In your experience, what food are you allowed to bring into the theater? I've heard "snacks" are allowed and was given fries and pizza as examples. And I heard "meals" are not allowed, such as burgers. I also heard you can bring soda and ice cream down, and if you have any candy. Not that we are going to be hungry enough to eat any food in the theater, but I thought it would be fun to bring non-traditional food (ie not popcorn) to a movie. LOL

In our experience (only on the Magic and Wonder), in the Buena Vista theatre (movie theatre) we've seen burgers, fries, pizza, candy, popcorn, drinks (all sorts). And I brought a sandwich from Goofy's galley once.

In the Walt Disney Theatre (live shows) we've seen ice cream, fries, drinks (all sorts), candy. But no "real" food - burgers, pizza, etc. That's not to say they haven't been there, we've just not seen it.

i’ve read a few things. we may have drinks, adult beverages, candy maybe. we are eating so frequently that we’ve never thought to plan a meal or food of any nature to take in there. personally, we wouldn’t, just us, but i’m not a fan of clinking and eating and crinkling and food smells more than the traditional and the theaters aren’t set up like comfy dinner and a movie places. that said, might i eat some random french fries i guess at an early, sparsely attended showing of something? yeah, i might - because i’m a rebel dottie!

in any event, i do love me some movies on the top deck and thats were we do are non-traditional snacking with fabulous large screen movies!

on our last cruise there was one movie showing, and i'd be hard pressed to tell you what it was now, that filled the theatre. all kinds of kids and adults and all kinds of food. i saw everything coming in burgers, fries, pizza, fruits, a meat and cheese plate, it was all there.
i don't think there is anything your not allowed to bring in. i had read on one of the threads a long while back that you were not allowed to bring food in but that has never been my experience.

We were stopped from bringing a hot dog in to the WD theatre on the Fantasy.

I have no issues with people bring food and drinks into the theaters but I was disgusted to see adults and children just toss their garbage and half eaten food on the floor. Just blew me away how ignorant some people were.

I've always understood it as when going in the Buena Vista theater for movies anything is up for grabs, but when it comes to the stage shows in the Walt Disney theater nothing that is smelly/greasy like burgers, fries, and hot dogs allowed but ice cream, candy, popcorn, and drinks are totally okay. The again why would you want to have a full meal in the WD theater as you are either just coming from dinner in the late showing or are on your way there next while in the early showing lol.

We wanted to bring food because my five year old prefers kids club instead of dining room but is too busy playing to stop and eat at club, ergo we try to slip him something "substantial" during/before/after the show so he can get right back to his fun!

Ah makes sense, would of never crossed my mind as my brother is a teen and I'm 20

On the Wonder, we were told not to bring any hot food into the Walt Disney theatre :/ but small snacks were allowed. We had to finish all of our food off before entering.

Sad indeed. Even more sad is that over the years we've gotten used to seeing it---

This has been my experience and it's been consistent and I've sailed all four ships. For the shows in WDT, no hot type food as it's the smells that can be viewed disturbing for other guests but snacks are ok. For the BVT seems like anything goes and typically there isn't even a CM there to see what you bring in.

I know with the addition of fresh popcorn people have mentioned the smell from that but clearly that is allowed :)

I'm just excited to bring 'outside' snacks into a theater without getting caught. I don't sneak in candy or anything when I go see a movie here at home because I would feel guilty and I always buy the $20 something Large popcorn and 2 large drinks or what have you. I know the popcorn you would have to buy but the drinks and candy (fill up at the drink station) and candy buy from Wal-Mart for $1.00. popcorn::

Also I know it's a popular mention to bring the theater candy from home, but I honestly have never felt a need for it! We aren't huge candy eaters though so that could be part of it, but I've always found there to plenty of snack options without buying candy onboard (okay except for one bag of the chocolate covered caramel popcorn) or feeling like I needed it from home because I'm missing something! As a PP mentioned last time I took a small plate of mini desserts from the buffet lunch for a sweet treat during an afternoon movie, way better than the $1 boxed candy IMO!

We've taken in drinks and small snacks like pretzels, and fries (in a cup from the drink station.) made for a fun movie experience, from what we saw before, most people who brought in food would dispose of the containers, but now with the addition of popcorn it seemed like mid day showings before the cleaners had a chance the floors would be covered with popcorn and containers dropped all over the floor some aisles.... Wonder how much longer till they stop selling popcorn again
