Ok so most our meals will be in our room. We have a microwave and small fridge.

One idea is sandwich, another cheese crisps.

One question is do you think and Ice Chest is cold enough to hold any frozen things (say a bag of chicken that i know has microwave directions.)
If its kept in a ice chest, even if it thaws would it still be good in a few days (three or four) (as long as we keep adding ice?)

we will not be freezing it again it will all be eaten

I have lots of drink mixs so we should only need one or two sodas a day and mostly water and drink mixs in park.
Sunday Pizza
(dinner hope for left overs for snacks though next two days)

We have one meal Monday - (hotel breakfast and snacks) Then princess lunch (we will make something for snack (dinner) before we head back to park in room at bout 5 , WOC line up at 7 or 730 (garbed fp earlier)
some midnight food at 10pm before bed.(more less pizza)

one meal tue Minnie - breakfast at 930 we think 2 in half hours MM and park play before brunch will help us

wed midevil times

thursday no meal planed

I think my fam can make it by eating stuff in room most times and still have nice time.

I will try get
cupcake from vh-5 or 6

Fish chips at golden horse shoe or chicken -7 or so. (15 for two meals+6 for kids(a 20 and change) (on the day were with out parents)

Mom wants to maybe spend 10 on the Chinese food in dca maybe)
(so about 50 on special foods around the park):scared1:

As you see i have no sippers or popcorn buckets yet. (of course i fully expect to see one of each and Need it so 20 is set aside for that lol()

After all this ive been able to budget 40 for son 40 for mom and 40 for me(dad don't want any lol just coffee
he wants to make sure we can get

Coffee on main street will help mom dad and Steve keep going all day
(maybe me too)
with hot coco?:dance3:

Ok so any ideas any feed back anything that helped you guys save money.
What meals are big enough to share between two or three?

I have found breakfast to be the best in room meal, so I would be the opposite of your plan.
It is easy to have milk, cereal, fruit, granola bars, bagels, cream cheese etc and have lavish in room breakfasts. I would then plan to eat lunch in the parks.
Add sandwich fixing and chips and have a light dinner in your room after you return.

this also sounds a little healthier.

I think an ice chest is will be enough for you for a few days, especially if our items are kept away from standing water and you are diligent about replacing the ice twice a day or so.

Along with meals and snacks I always bring along string cheese, beef jerky and nuts to have on me in the park. 2oz's of beef jerky goes a long way in satisfying me until a meal :D

Last year we had a free breakfast at the hotel, but I would get some milk and cereal, amybe bagels and peanut butter or cream cheese for breakfasts.
We bring in a bag of trail mix, sandwiches, water, granola bars, chips and cookies with us. Then we can snack in line, and we dont get too hungry while in the park. Because, its really hard to walk past all the treats when hungry.
We were so hot that we ate more snacky stuff.
Plaza has a large chicken platter that is easy to split.
HTH

We are buying breakfast things but will eat the rest of our meals in or near the parks. We bought cereal and will get milk once in Anaheim. I just bought those small assorted boxes of cereal for DD (she loves cereal ). We are also planning on getting some breakfast pastries and some OJ or something as I'm not as big a cereal eater.

As for the chicken you may want to keep it in the small fridge and use the cooler for drinks and other non perishables that you want cold.

ty all good ideas.
see we get free breakfast, but its true it can be easy to have milk oj bagels and such in the room.
(can also put meat cheese on bagels and heat and have sandwich ) (with chips)

The trail mix and Jerky are two i forgot on my list so ty much

The chicken is those chicken nuggets in bag stuff. Ive left some after being heated left overs in my fridge for few days and was fine. I think as long as I don't refreeze it it should be ok.
I will use the hotel fridge tho so not to get wet.
cheese sticks are always in our bags for quick snack in line and park so i will get huge bag ty

We did breakfast in our room, lunch in the park and dinner outside the park - either drove to a fast food place or ate at McDonald's on our way back to the room. As much as we planned to leave for lunch and rest in the afternoons, it never happened. We were having too much fun in the parks to take a break. We usually had our lunch meal around 1-2 and ate dinner at 9-10pm. We took small snacks into the park - sliced apples, cookies, crackers, squeezable applesauce, etc and had those snacks in the afternoon.

I would be hesitant about the chicken. If you can't keep it cold enough and it makes someone sick, it would be so not worth ruining your trip...

We eat cheap, too. We take peanut butter, crackers, fruit, trail mix and chips with us. Last trip we didn't eat a single meal in the park :scared1: - we ate the free breakfast at the hotel, did Denny's twice, Subway once, McDonald's once, Tony Roma's once, and Naples once (not cheap, but I had my $30 birthday certificate, so it was cheap for us) and leftovers once in our 3.5 days there. Our most expensive meal was Tony Roma's (about $60 for 6 people), we try to order off the $2, $4, $6, $8 menu at Denny's and Subway and McDonald's are rather inexpensive anyway.

We just did 8 days.

We stored yogurt, applesauce cups, string cheese, and pudding cups in the fridge and packed them into the parks each day (keeping them cold in an insulated backpack with water bottles we'd frozen in the room).

You can also bring protein items that don't need refrigeration...like almonds and walnuts. We brought in sandwich bags for each person each day filled with yogurt raisins, honey-roasted sunflower seeds, almonds, dried apples, and banana chips. We also brought in whole, raw apples and baby carrots. On some days, these items actually served as a meal (coupled with a chocolate milk for each kid).

We purchased one meal in the parks each day - and only drank water the entire time. On days when we were running low on all of the trail mix items and raw fruit/veggies listed above, we picked up a 2nd meal after leaving the parks if anyone was hungry enough to eat...at El Pollo Loco, or Taco Bell (our fast food choices are limited because of wheat allergy...).

We brought paper bowls, plastic spoons, and boxes of cereal for breakfasts in the room (we have to eat gluten-free..otherwise we could have just utilized the hotel's breakfast).

Personally, I would not bring in the frozen chicken. If you want chicken and will have a car...There are 2 El Pollo Loco's near the resort, and their chicken is yummy, healthy-ish (grilled, not fried), and really affordable. Plus it keeps well in the fridge and re-heats well in the microwave.

The freezers in those little fridges *do* actually freeze things...we froze water bottles each night to put in our insulated backpack the next day to keep other items like cheese and yogurt cool. If the bag you buy is small enough to fit in the freezer, that is. But how will you cook it??

A few years ago we had an ice chest with all the things needed to make sandwiches (we didn't have a fridge) and it worked just fine. As far as frozen food, as long you replace the ice 1-2 times a day (depending on how well your cooler keeps cool) you will be okay.

its microwaveable (believe me i was shocked but found it one night when my oven didnt wor k(lol my fave honey chicken is microwaveable wow it tastes just as good. But i may not get it i may forgo the chicken and buy mac and cheese bowls lol

thanks tho all you taco bell would be a go for my fam where was it from dl?

The Taco Bell we went to was at the intersection of Ball and Harbor.

I definitely would not risk the chicken. I've had some serious bouts of food poisoning and it's not worth it.
I hope you all have a wonderful trip!!

We bring a small 8 x 8 " Foreman grill so we can do things like hot dogs and grilled cheese. You can even cook frozen waffles ( gluten free, too!) on those grills....works as well as a toaster.

I really like this idea. :thumbsup2

Also, burritos and tostadas would be very easy in the room instead of Taco Bell. Only the cheese would need refrigerated beforehand (unless you're like my DW and think sour cream is essential to all Mexican food). Canned chicken (easy to store) could be used in quesadillas with the leftovers. I also like those pre-mixed tuna salads for another canned option.

If you really wanted to go guerrilla style, you could load up on dehydrated dinners and cook them in the parking lot with a Jetboil.

Bring a crock pot!

We are a crock pot family. Throw something in, in the AM and it is done when you get back to the room later. I would not risk bring chicken just due to the Salmonella risk.

Just a note about bringing your own appliances - there have been many discussions on these boards about this NOT being allowed by the hotel because of the fire hazard.

its one the sandwich makers, not a real grill and i wouldn't leave it plugged in. ty tho good thougths
