hello we are a family of six looking to stay off site, how ever we stayed in a house one time and felt it just wasnt the vacation feeling. We loved staying on site a cbr and finishing the night at the food court. this time time we cant afford two rooms or to stay on site so we are looking for a resort near disney that is kid friendly with nice pools and a must food court like area be it a single shop just something to have a snack together to end the night. Our budget is probbaly $150 a night. Any Ideas? thanks in advance.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek --- the timeshare resort-- would be perfect for you --- and it's right next door to CBR. I suggest you look at the "We loooooove Bonnet Creek" thread for more info.

You can easily afford a 4 bedroom townhome at Paradise Palms with that budget. They have a restaurant/bar in the community pool area although I am not sure I would compare it to a food court. I don't think I have ever stayed at any resort that had a food court except when I stayed onsite, and honestly having to walk to a food court to get coffee in the morning made me pretty cranky. The great part about staying in a home is that you save a ton of money by having all your food there. Even if all you do is keep frozen waffles and sandwich stuff, beer, sodas, etc in the fridge you save a ton of money, plus you get your own private pool plus the community pool with hot tubs. After having a private pool, as a parent, I have decided that I absolutely love being able to crawl into my pajamas with a glass of wine while the kids finish the night off in the little pool on the patio. Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms are also options. Just look on Homeaway/VRBO/FlipKey/Tripadvisor and you should be able to find something in your budget with money left over for the rental car.

The Nick Hotel has a food court, and I believe the Marriot World Center has a food court too. Also the 3 resorts at the Marriot village share a food court.

The Marriott Orlando World Center does have a food court - their rooms are probably out of that budget. They do, however, have timeshare condos on property (Sabal Palms is a short walk over), and you can look on redweek.com for rentals. I just stayed at Sabal Palms last summer, and am doing so again next spring - it's so close to Disney, connected to the large resort, but has all the comforts of home as well.

Also yes, the Marriott Village (3 midrange Marriott hotels in a gated community) have a food court. The rooms will be much smaller though.

The Sheraton Vistana Resort has a small food court on the north side of the resort (near the Fountains and Lakes sections). The pools there are awesome (there are 7), they have mini golf onsite, there are basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, etc. and tons of scheduled activities for every age. Its very close to Disney. Villas are huge (about 1200 square feet) and offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pull-out sofa in the living room, an in-room washer and dryer, and a full kitchen (check out my August trip report via the link in my signature if you want to see photos).

The $150 per night might be tough if you try to rent directly from the Vistana via their website, but sometimes Dreams Unlimited (one of the sponsors of these boards) have some pretty great rates. And you could easily get a unit for $1000 a week by renting directly from an owner....there are lots of listings on the Timeshare Users Group website, and I will be there are also some on Ebay and VRBO. We got our unit for $120 per night, taxes in and including housekeeping, by combining our accommodations with our flight in a JetBlue Getaways package.
