Food Budget?

We went for 10 days (2 adults, DS15 and DD9) and spent $2500 on food. We did 9 TS meals including Ohana dinner, CM, VN and many more. Breakfast was usually bagels or Danish that we bought on our way to the parks. Lunch was CS. This also included a night at Trader Sam's, eating and drinking around Epcot WS one night and all snacks. We also had drinks at dinner sometimes.

like pp's have noted, it can cost more or less, just decide ahead what type of eating you would probably do,and set your budget! I have gone on 2 week trips (4 people) and spent 1500 total on eating out, and I have done 5 days where we spent 1000 on eating out....(4 people) just depends on the budget at the time.... you to me 150 per day is not super low for 4 people....it's a bit over what I plan for usually- my average is 100-125 per day for 4 people....

$150 sounds good to me. Like some of the others have mentioned, look over the menus of the places you are interested in and plan ahead. That is how I planned my food budget. On the day of our character meal breakfast, I have $200 set aside for the day. The lowest is $90 only because I am planning to order from Garden Grocer and some meals will be in our room. These are only minimums amounts, I am giving myself plenty of wiggle room in my food budget. What ever isn't used each day for food gets rolled over to the next. I will only be there for 7 days and there is 5 of us, Dh, Ds8, Dd5, Dd2 and me.

How much do you think a family of four would spend a day on food? We are two adults and two over 10 girls (11 and 15).

I'm going to buy the Tables in Wonderland card and the mugs when I get there and upgrade to an AP so that will help. Is $150 a day reasonable? We would do light breakfast (bagel or muffin) with hotel coffee (free) and then maybe a quick serve dinner and a sit down lunch every day (not any of the more expensive restaurants). I would like to do Akershus for my daughter because it's their first time to Disney and I think we should splurge on a character meal. I'm also going to bring nuts, snacks and get a couple of cases of water delivered.

We are planning to go for 14 days.

We travel with myself, DH and DS13. We average somewhere around $100- $125 a day for food (including snacks/alcohol). We generally do breakfast in the room, and counterservice for both lunch and dinner. DS and I sometimes eat kids meals, sometimes adult meals. Sometimes two of us will share one counter service meal and add an extra side, depending on our mood. We drink mostly water, we share snacks (we don't buy two or three ice creams, we buy one and split it, then a few hours later we have popcorn or whatever), we never eat table service. DH and I do go to the hotel bar for a couple of drinks at least once during the trip, and when we are at Epcot we always have a few adult beverages.

I will say that the day we spent the couple of hours that there was a thunderstorm did blow the budget a bit for that day. I think we had a couple drinks each and a couple of appetizers and it cost us about $120 just for that, but we don't do that all the time, and you might not do that at all.
