Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Oh yeah I think we missed each other by a few days right?!

I regret not trying that. I heard good things about it, even though it sounds pretty gnarly.

Yep, that day Saturday definitely doesn't count. I hear the crowds are just awful...and that some of the people are too :crazy2:

We were there starting Columbus Day weekend through the rest of the week. We were surprised how crowded it was even later in the week but at least the lines for the booths lessened a lot

This is a picture from Saturday - you can't even make out where the line for the Australia booth ends and another starts and the booth on the right, the end of the line is off the screen too. Conservatively I'd say all lines were ~60 people long or more.

Fortunately we didn't stick around to see the really bad people later - we decided to cut our losses and head over to Magic Kingdom

Love your pictures and it makes me so excited that we will be there for the food and wine festival. I am a little picky though with good so I don't know if I would try everything but you never know. I am not so picky with the alcohol. :thumbsup2. I will at least try even if I don't like it.

Hey, as long as you're not picky in the alcohol department, that's all that matters :thumbsup2

1 year??? Wow! Slacker... :rolleyes1

 :faint: Ugh...Techincally, i've got a little over 2 weeks since we've been back from our trip for a year...so until it hits a year exactly, i'm good :lmao:

I wish they sold carry out fillet and cheddar cheese soup all year long.
That would be brilliant if they had a cart set up outside, for even just the soup. I think people would buy it!

Ok, my belly is full, time to chill...

:thumbsup2

Aw, that is so cute! :lovestruc Glad he liked them. Hopefully he learned that hugging characters is a good thing! :goodvibes

I show him a few videos a day, so he won't forget:)

I totally thought I'd replied, but now I think the dis logged me out when I tried.

That banoffee tart looks DELICiOUS!!!!! And quite a few things I'll be able to try popcorn::

I'll be there this evening :cool1:

That's right your Fall trip! Completely forgot. Can't wait to see what you try out :)

Here is the recipe I found. It does not include the whiskey in this recipe but I believe you add just a smidge to the filling mixture.

Ooh thanks so much! :hyper:

Woah! :faint: Had the lines been like that for us, I would have been very sad/annoyed. Especially since some of the booths were taking a while, even with just a few people in line.

***I left us off having just eaten from the Canada booth***

We had found a spot right by the lake in the shade to eat our food

While we were enjoying the view, DS was enjoying the ducks

Since we had gotten a good spot, I decided I’d go for me and DM to the Dessert Booth

I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I went with the trio. The Morello Cherry Pistachio Mousse, Chocolate Orange Cupcake and the Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake

DM and I devoured this! We loved every single item and not a bite was left. Best booth eva!!

Now I know for sure Alison had told me I had to stop here

To get the Warm Chocolate Pudding with Bailey’s Custard

Oh my

Ridiculous! If you’re ever here for F&W, please get this. You will not regret it!

DH couldn’t pass up the Cheese plate with Reserved Cheddar, Dubliner with Irish Stout and Skelig

It was right up his alley and he was very pleased with it.

At this point we had already hit 8 booths and thought we should take a break in the UK pavilion for a bit and walk around.

I liked this shirt for some reason

So I had received this as a gift from our trip in 2012 from my mom. LOVE IT!!!

However, DH HATES IT. :( So disappointed. He complained every time I put it on….said it has an ‘old lady’ smell. :rolleyes2 Someone, anyone, go to this shop in the UK pavilion and smell it for me and verify that it does NOT smell like old lady. Anyway, I saw it this trip and really wanted it, knowing that DH was not going to be happy. So we came to a compromise. He would smell all the lotions in the shop, pick his favorite and if I agreed to it, he would buy it for me as a Christmas gift. :teacher:

He found this one. Very sweet smelling, light and fresh. I’m trying not to use it all the time so he can buy me another one in January. I’m at under a quarter of the bottle now.

Love the gardens outside

Our break was short, but we had a goal to reach, so right back into it we went...

Hi
I don't usually read the American trip reports being from the uk, but have enjoyed reading all yours, started reading just because it was food and wine and we go in a few weeks for that.
The report has transpired into a whole different level off trips i hadn't thought id have read, but have enjoyed it all, and the pictures.
The valet parking problem, probably the funnest moment i have read about in a long time. :lmao:

I love Kerrygold cheese! Yum!

That shirt is too funny! :rotfl:

Glad you found a scent that you both could agree on!

Yeah - I'm really worried about no park pass. I even tried to convince Denny that we should do a time share presentation to get two discount Epcot tickets. He still wouldn't go for it. But we made this agreement that we were going to Universal and the Halloween party and that's it. I really don't want to get my AP until February so I can have it for Christmas 2015!

Mmmm, those desserts sound yummy!

Okay, I feel a lot better about the change at the Ireland booth now. I had loved the lava cake w/Bailey's they used to have, but the new version looks very similar and quite delicious!

Ugh, this report really makes me want to go back to Food & Wine!

I really wanted to try that dessert booth. Never made it round. :headache:

That chocolate pudding is really amazing, isn't it?

So you followed the fillet and cheese soup from Canada up with desserts??? I really have nothing to say about this, so I'll let this do the talking...

I'm glad your DH was able to find a lotion that met his approval... :confused3 :rotfl2:

Everything looks super yummy!!!!! I've been here three days, at EPCOT each day, and have only tried the freshly squeezed watermelon juice which was vile! Its just been super hot and I can't eat hot food while hot. And it's been raining. Oh well, I'll try some things before leaving popcorn::

Hi there Alicia! It only took me 10 pages or so to get caught up! A real treat though to read through the rest of your DL mini- TR. It was so awesome to meet you guys. I'm having Alicia and Daniel withdrawals! :rotfl:

I'm controlling my hysteria with Daniel's school ID photos - oh my gosh, what a character! :lmao: Say hi to him for me.

I'm excited to see you jump back into a F&W update. I'm trying to get ideas for our trip this week. It will be our first time at F&W.

The warm chocolate pudding with the Bailey's creme really was phenomenal!

Definitely key to avoid smelling like an old lady :lmao: ... glad you found a scent you could all agree on though!

I swear that every pavilion in the World Showcase is my favorite ... until I get to the next one :rotfl:

M R Ducks!

Oooh, I'm liking this booth. :thumbsup2

To get the Warm Chocolate Pudding with Bailey’s Custard

This also looks tasty!

Nice compromise! And much better than smelling like an old lady.:rotfl:

Thanks so much for reading! It's taking a while, but hopefully you get some ideas of what's good at F&W. I haven't had a bad dish yet. Everything's wonderful!

I'm scared to show our faces back at the Grand Californian for our parking mishap :lmao:

Have the best time at F&W and safe travels :goodvibes

I love Kerrygold cheese! Yum!

Me too! Really, any cheese is fine by me :thumbsup2

Do you know how much of a discount they give you? Very interesting! Your thinking is smart though, i'd hold off as long as possible, especially if you'll be visiting Christmas in 2015!

Mmmm, those desserts sound yummy!

I've never had the other version, but there's no way it was better than this one! It was fabulous.

Aren't you leaving soon?! :)

I really wanted to try that dessert booth. Never made it round. :headache:

That chocolate pudding is really amazing, isn't it?

Absolutely extraordinary dessert!

::yes::

I'm glad your DH was able to find a lotion that met his approval... :confused3 :rotfl2:

He has a very heightened sense of smell..much like a pregnant woman:lmao:

Everything looks super yummy!!!!! I've been here three days, at EPCOT each day, and have only tried the freshly squeezed watermelon juice which was vile! Its just been super hot and I can't eat hot food while hot. And it's been raining. Oh well, I'll try some things before leaving popcorn::

I thought you had left already! Yikes, you'd think watermelon juice would taste refreshing and delicious. Guess not!

The weather totally sounds like our trip! You're right, when it's hot, eating isn't something I like to do. I only want really cold water and super cold desserts!

Brenda! Good to see you:goodvibes You've been a very busy lady lately.

We miss you too!

Oooh yay! I really hope you do a TR for F&W. Your TR's are amazing!

The warm chocolate pudding with the Bailey's creme really was phenomenal!

Yes it was!

Definitely key to avoid smelling like an old lady :lmao: ... glad you found a scent you could all agree on though!

And here I thought I was smelling delicious, I was smelling gnarly the whole time :rotfl2:

I swear that every pavilion in the World Showcase is my favorite ... until I get to the next one :rotfl:

Totally agree....but i'm going to be a bad American...the American pavilion is my least favorite

:duck:

M R Ducks!

I wish DS could say any part of that sentence :lmao:

Nice compromise! And much better than smelling like an old lady.:rotfl:

Shoot, I thought I was smelling like a hot, young model. Mothballs and hemorrhoid cream is not hot apparently.

My DS turned 2 yesterday  But he seemed happy about it

For his party, we had a Disneyland theme to kick off the birthday weekend, as we'll be heading down there this afternoon and going to the parks Saturday and Sunday with DM and DH's parents and sister. Wanted to share some photos of his party.

The cake....I was very happy with it!

It was a dessert only party so I made

Mickey shaped Rice Krispy Treats

Tigger Tails...so delicious but rich!

I found Minnie's Bake Shop Chocolate Chip Supreme Cookie recipe online. Pretty spot on

I bought the Churros at a local Mexican bakery

Made some Disneyland poster banners

This is cool, I had seen this on one of my DIS'er friends Instagram. It's a Day at Disney playset. It has tea cups, Dumbo, Casey's train, fireworks and IASW music. Very cute! He saw Mickey and went, "Ooooh!"

R2D2 sippy cup

DH showed up late because of a Football game he was coaching, so this is really our only family pic

Oh and these were the Invitations I sent out

Definitely a great day and DS made out good with his gift loot.

Heading out of here at 12:30 to pick up DH from work and then on our way to Anaheim! It's supposed to be hot and crowded, but better than being at home any day.

Wow, look at that hair! He's growing up on you... :rolleyes1

The party and the decorations look amazing. I'm sure you all had a good time with it. Especially Calvin. :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Mr. Calvin! He looks so proud (and big!) standing in front of the table!

Love, love the banner in the Disnyland Font - and all the posters! We have a calendar with those types of posters for WDW and I love them but not sure what to do with them when done - that was a great idea!

Happy Birthday, Calvin!

I cannot believe how much he has grown and he is just too cute. What a great birthday party - well done, mom!

Have fun at DL this weekend. :wizard:

HB Calvin!

That's an amazing party and the decorations are just fantastic. Way to go, Leesha! And that cake is just gorgeous. Well done on it all.
