So we are going in Oct for a quick trip. Which would you do (both crowd calendars looks good) a saturday or a monday? We won't be out late at night due to small kids. so I figured those doing more the drinking of food and wine will be late afternoon/evening.

Which would you do...saturday or monday?

Definitely Monday. Too many locals on the weekend drinking too much!

Monday is the best. Start sampling early, at 11am to avoid longer lines at the booths.

Absolutely Monday. We went on a Saturday last October. It was ok at around 3ish. As the night progressed, it was packed. We expected it and have planned for it since it was the only night we could be there with our family.

Another vote for Monday. The weekends, especially Saturday are crazy. Last year, after flying in and going to DS, we thought we would walk over and look around, get a drink as we had 2 hours till our dinner reservation. It was wall to wall people and huge lines everywhere. We left.

We did Future World in the morning on a Saturday last October and instead of hitting WC in the afternoon we just went back to the resort. Way too many people. I think TPS has it at a 9 that day. Definitely do Monday.

Monday is definitely preferable, but if you're just going to do lunch noshing on Saturday, you should be okay if you get to the World Showcase just when it opens at 11 and start then. That way you beat the crowds. And avoid it in the late afternoon and evening on Saturday at all costs. It is insanely packed, often with people who have over-sampled the wine and beer flights, if you get my drift. It is very unpleasant on a Saturday night.

For those who say monday....are there just us much events you would see on a weekend that you would see on a monday? Some of our party will stay in the park for events...

Crowd calendars often don't reflect the crowds that will be at the festival who don't intend to go on any rides or attractions. Don't go Saturday unless either you want to leave by 1:00-2:00 or you will stay in Future World and avoid World Showcase. Also if you don't want your kids to see the most large groups with drink around the world tee shirts, don't go on Saturday. If you go early before the groups get a few countries under their belts it's better, but they will still be there. There might be one or two of these groups on Monday but there will be 12-15 of them around on Saturday.

I don't know what the OP meant by "just as much events" on Saturday as on Monday. Do you mean regular Epcot happenings or special food and wine festival events? Epcot's scheduled events are pretty much the same every day. The paid F&W events, there will be more of those on Saturday. Also the park will close later (at 10:00) on Saturday. But it will be stuffed to the gills with festival goers because the locals like to come out on Saturday, and on Monday they are generally back at work or school.

My kids will be out around lunch anyway...its more about planning some other events let alone some in our group will be staying in epcot and i want them to get the trips worth since normally they go alone and this time they are tagging along with us. They will be staying in the park while my particular group will go back. And as far as the tee's that doesn't offend me...particularly my kids see a glass of wine in my hands for dinner.

If they don't like crowds, Monday.

I don't know what kind of events the group staying in Epcot wants to plan. Unless you are talking about booking some of the paid food & wine events, there won't be anything different happening in Epcot on Saturday versus Monday. But the World Showcase will be extraordinarily crowded on Saturday afternoon and evening (unless there is bad weather), and not as much on Monday.
