Food and Wine festival... waiting.... patiently... not!! :)

I see the listing of what booths will be there but when do you come out with a listing of what each booth will be offering and the prices?

I am excited to see Stephen Pyles on the list of chefs! He is a local chef celebrity and has some great restaurants around town. Too bad I won't be there when he is. He was the keynote speaker at my brother's college graduation.

See "Sake, Sushi, and Sashimi," October 10, 2005, at AllEarsNet. It's an informative and well written review. I attended in 2004 and 2005. The menus were similar but different between the two years, so I would expect some changes again for 2006. They had the freshly grated wasabi both years, and I hope they'll do that again this year.

Thanks so much this was perfect. I think I will give it a try while I am there.

Any one have any comments about the restaurants being too noisy to hear due to other guests having regular meals at the same time? I know this was a big problem 2 years ago for us at Le Cellier.

Someone usually posts the list on wdwig.com or the DIS a day or two after the festival starts.

Thank you!
Unfortunately I will be there at the start - guess I will just have to wing-it :thumbsup2

Are they kidding us? This is torture. I thought for sure they would have info out the week before the reservations open!

I was just thinking the exact same thing. I glanced at my calendar and was like, wow, only 7 days until we can make ressies, but there's no schedule with prices, etc officially released? CRAZY :confused3 !

Does anyone know the price of the seminars? Warren Brown and Cat Cora!!!!

Really excited:)

I see where they are offering both a morning (9 AM) and an afternoon (12 PM) session of the Sweet Sundays this year. In the past, it had been one session at around 10:30 served with a light breakfast & wine. In actuality, it was a delicious full breakfast buffet of goodies.

I wonder how the lunch version of the buffet will be. The Sun. Oct. 8th date when I plan to go is also still showing TBA for the guest chef. If anyone hears who this is, or the menu for the 12 PM lunch buffet, let me know. Thanks!

I see that also..I think this is a very popular event. I know we did it for the first time last year and it was fantastic, we were looking to do it again this year.

Wasn't a problem at all at Alfredo's, but they have a back room to seat everyone in, so we were cut off from the dining room which was very nice.

Has there been an update yet? Everything I find still has no prices announced, and limited details. Any info on the full and complete calendar of events, or when it will be released? A week from today we will all be booking our reservations, and as DH and I are at WDW for 10 days, I want to plan my F&W events, and then book ADR's around them.

I guess you can say that I am impatient! :hyper:

Can anyone tell me about the Free Events?

There are too many to mention. Wines/beers/scotch/cooking demonstrations..they usually offer them multiple days in a row. When you get to EPCOT, check the schedule and then see how many times they are offered. You have to line up a good 30-60 minutes before the thing starts depending on who is doing the tasting/talking.

I went solo last year and it wasn't a real problem. The only problem I had was that I didn't get to sit down and eat since there are fewer "sitting" spots then people and most people get there and "hold" their table so I didn't have anyone to "hold" my table. I just perched at the standing tables.

That's why if I go this year I am going to look for some other solos going my night! We can take turns holding the spaces.

Last yr. was my 1st PotS. DH and I read here to secure seating ASAP. Thanks to disboards posters, we did well. We met a couple who asked to share our table. (The table sat 6-8.) We enjoyed tag teaming the food and wine (sent the DH's for more scallops) and made new friends. Other singles joined us throughout the night. There are standing tables, but it was nice to have a home base. There may have been many food snobs, but not real snobs! People share. Make conversation with folks before entering the big room. I plan to study the "menu" before entering and sit closest to the food/wine section I like most (from reading.) It's a big room.

I will not miss PotS this Sept. It was the highlight of my last WDW trip! :drinking1 (Someone make a smile eating at PotS!)

I'm bumping and asking my question again. Does anyone know the price of (or have a link to) the seminars, etc. LAST year so we can kind of compare what they may be this year?
:)

Has anyone noticed the "use to be free" culinary demos at the Odessey now will need an ADR and costs $. I guess the popularity of F&WF has us reaching deeper into our wallets!

We have been to the F&WF every year and will be going for three of the weekends. We are planing on P4TS on Sept. 30th and Oct 28th. Might do a couple Food and Wine pairings and a Sweet Sunday! Can't wait!!! :Pinkbounc

We want to do the PFTS on 10.28 as well. I think a lot of DIS-ers will be there around then. We are probably doing MNSSHP on 10.31 too. :yay:
