I am down to 27 days and counting before we go. I have $1,000.00 saved for food this is for 3 people for 5 days. Incl. Hoop de doo, lecellier, ohanna and the castle for dinner. These are the big meals, rest are counter service. Is this enough money????. I checked out the menu sites to have a good idea on cost of food, I think I am in the clear, but just wanted someone to say yep--ok for price. This $1,000.00 also goes for snacks, drinks, anything to do with food. I think my daughter and I will split most counter service meals too. 1st time going to the world and I'm getting cost jitters. Just when ya think you have everything figured out I start to 2nd guess myself. Thanks again for any help.

how old is your daughter? will you be paying child price or adult price for her? that will make a difference. splitting meals is a good idea. just know that the water, sodas, etc are around $2.50 each. just some things to keep in mind. have a great trip!:p

Our Daughter is 11, and her and I do pretty good at splitting meals. Maybe I should take a few more hundred to just be on safe side??. Thanks! Mogs

I get $200 per day for your family, or $66 a person, with only four big meals (and no character meal).

Unless you are really big eaters, eating multiple courses - or planning on a lot of alcohol with your meals - you should have plenty.

As to bringing extra cash, it depends. Are you they type who will spend it if you have it? Is it easy to put a couple meals for you on a credit card or stop by a cash machine?

yep, ok for price. :D
my DW and I usually plan about $100-$120 per day for food for the two of us. This would be breakfast in the room, lunch at counter service in the parks, and a nice dinner. It also covers drinks and snacks throughout the day. Last February, we spent $710 for 7 days, so we came pretty close to our estimate.
You should be just fine with $1000 for 5 days with 3 people, especially if the only big meals are the ones you listed.
And if you have a bunch left over at the end, it just means more souveniers to take home. :D

Thanks everyone!!. We are not big eaters, and my husband might have a drink with meal but myself and daughter will have pop or milk. I thouhght I did ok planning cost wise, just get worried now that it is so close. We are bringing a c.c. with just in case, but don't want to have to use it unless emergency. Thanks for making me feel better. Everyone have a magical day can't believe our trip is so close now.

You will have no problems! That is $200 per day for meals, and I am assuming that you may only eat 2 per day, depending on where you eat!

We usually budget that amount for both meals and souveniers for 3 of us, and we eat at least 2 sitdown meals a day.

I thought I would share our tip for saving money. Unless you are big on breakfast ... pick up quick items to eat in the room while getting ready. Then eat a big lunch. Then we either eat a counter service dinner or grab a snack around 4 in the parks, and eat healthy sanck type stuff back in the room. We can easily get by on 100-125 a day with the 4 of us (3 at adult prices and appetites) when we eat like this.

I would strongly suggest that you invest in the resort mugs at your hotel...$11.99 currently + tax.

Free refills on soda, coffee, tea for the length of your stay....a big money saver in my opinion......

Have a great time:bounce:

Hi, we are contemplating on the refill mug. We are making a quick stop from our hotel pick-up to a grocery store, publix? maybe and I was thinking of picking up a couple 12 packs of pop and some water. Unless pop is really, really outrageous priced I think I would do better with money this way, I can get a lot of pop for $22.00??? In your opinion do you believe this also??? Thanks PS: My husband is bringing his own coffee mug for water and I am picking up single coffee packets since I heard the coffee is icky--Nestcafee?? Thanks again

I like to figure $50.00 dollars per-person per-day. I figure it for adults and for children (under 12, we all know that a young man 12 and over is going to eat and eat and eat and still be hungry. What ever you save he's probably going to eat up). There are days we spend more, but then there are days we spend less.

You definately have enough. My DH and I budget $100 a day for food, this year that even includes our son who will be two (he eats free at the buffet places).

We also get the resort mugs and bring our own food for breakfast at the hotel. Then we eat our big meal for lunch at a nicer sit down restaurant, and have dinner at one of the counter service places for dinner. That still leaves us some extra money for snacks and drinks.

Hi,
I definitely think you have enough budgeted. When we go, we budget $200/day for food and souvenirs, and our last trip we (12 days) we spent $2250 for both food and extras. Plus, we ate anywhere we wanted that trip, so that was pricey--ie, Brown Derby, California Grill, Artist Point, Jiko, Flying Fish, Le Cellier, Marrakesh, etc.

I am happy to hear that I will have enough money. I also forgot until now that I have over a $200.00 credit sitting at hotel for me, thanks to discount codes. :) How great is that, so I think we will be more than ok, as this is a little le-way if need it. Everyone have magical days and safe trips. :p
