Food Allergy Related - question on wiping down tables etc.

So DD5 has food allergies and I was trying to figure out what kind of wipes I should use to wipe down the tables (TS/CS) or other areas that make sense (like the airplane tray table, arm rests, window) to remove any nut residue.

Normally I use Baby Wipes. I'm wondering if that is really sufficient. We rarely are at restaurants that serve peanut butter.

Anyway, I picked up a few things and was seeking some input:

1) Lysol Wipes (good for disinfecting germs too, I realize a disinfectant isn't necessary really since I'm trying to remove protein traces). I couldn't find a small pack so I was going to put them in a ziplock, but they do kind of smell strong. Obviously not to be used on hands.

2) Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes - single packs. Good for hands too.

3) I found a small pack of Method brand wipes that were "natural" and unscented.

4) Regular old Target brand unscented wipes that I carry to wipe hands/face on a regular basis.

I also have Table Toppers that are leftover from when she was small. I suppose it might be good to bring those?

Any advice....I sound neurotic don't I? TIA!

PA DGS and I use regular baby wipes and then dry the table off with a napkin or two. I also LOVE the place mats but they are not quite as imporatnt now that most of the food stays on the plate.;)

I never liked using the cleaning type wipes when the food may be laid down there right away. They have the clorex anywhere stuff, do they have that in wipes????

AT WDW do not forget to be aware that PB can be anywhere and not just in resturants. We see kids on benches and in lines, on buses etc with it so.... lots of wipes;).

We use the Wet Ones antibacterial wipes for both hands and surfaces. I then use some clean napkins as a "placemat".

We wipe down the table with Wet Ones antibacterial wipes. I know it doesn't remove the peanut protein, however, I figure I must be diluting it somewhat. Plus, it makes me feel like I've done something :goodvibes. Also, my PN/TN allergic DD never allows her food to touch the tray or table directly. Finally, while my DH orders the food, I take the kids to the restroom to wash hands with soap and water. I figure every ride, queue chain, etc. is covered in a thin film of peanuts and nuts!

DVCDawn :tink:
