Anybody know the URL of the website from the government agency in Florida that posts property sales. I'd like to follow the progress of my DVC purchase; I'm supposed to get the closing papers next week. Thanks!

I believe it takes quite a few months for your information to show up on the county property site. You will definitely be closed, have your points and probably back from your first trip before that happens!

Yeah, of course. I'm a lawyer and I didn't think of that! Do they have an emoticon of me slapping my head? I guess I was too excited about passing ROFR.

In any event, the site is here: http://www.occompt.com/ click on "Records Search" on the right side of the page

Thanks! I'm not listed yet. However, I was able to find my seller's original purchase in 1998. Unfortunately, it does not have their original cost, which I was curious about. And interestingly, they had liens placed on their ownership several times for non-payment of MF. I guess that's why they finally sold, sadly.

well let us be the first ( on this thread at least ) to say CONGRATS & :welcome:party: HOME !!!

Enjoy those DVC adventures!

and just noticed, you're a Long Islander :goodvibes ......how convenient to add-on at Doorway to Dreams......resistance is usually futile you know :rotfl:

Best wishes
:) laura, joe &kids

Thank you very much! You're actually the first on ANY thread. And yes, I plan on a visit to Doorway to Dreams. However, I first have to see how my 170 points work out before I fall prey to addonitis:goodvibes

Once you are at the search page on the OCC website, you can type in your name as the Grantee and search for your deed. I have located my own deeds and have downloaded an electronic copy of each as a PDF.

The deeds appear fairly quickly on the OCC website after closing. On direct sales from Disney, I've seen deeds recorded in less than 2 weeks after the buyer signed the final papers.

Welcome to the DVC!

Thanks. I just received my closing papers via email. I hope to mail 'em out with the check today!

If they bought directly from DVC in 1998, they probably paid $60-$62.50. I bought in late 1999 and it was $65. There is a thread somewhere that had a list of the prices since inception.

Magic Vacation Title (the company that handles majority of The Timeshare Store, Inc.® closings) has a new system allowing you to follow your purchase online. It provides more convenient customer service.

Hope everyone finds it convenient.

Jason

Thats a fab service Jason, I will be checking the process of my purchase daily.:goodvibes

Is there a loan satisfaction document on file? That should have the original price on it.... (Unless, the mortgage hadn't been paid off?)

Wish I could find that thread! DH and I have often wondered about the prices at the various resorts over the years.

do you have a link for it?

Oddly, there doesn't seem to be a mortgage filed. Just the original deed for the property in 1998, and then liens filed for failure to pay MF, and removal of the liens. And then the deed from the original owner to me.

If you're curious (I was) and want to know what the person you purchased your contract from paid for their original purchase, do a search on the Orange Co Comptroller's site (http://www.occompt.com/) for the seller's name. IF they financed their purchase, there will be a Mortgage recorded that will show the total price paid. The same search will also show a corresponding Deed that will have the Use Year and number of points purchased. A simple division of the Deed points into the Mortgage $'s will tell you the price per point your seller originally paid. In my case, my contract was originally purchased at OKW for $56.475/pt in October, 1997.
