Just thought I'd report back on our trip, and our experience regarding the MK parking and CMNHC.
First of all, we had a great trip! First time to the World for my parents with me as an adult, and for them with a grandchild. Good times.
My parents attended the CMNHC, utillizing the free parking, and adding my mom as a card holder to our Disney Visa scored them free tickets, as well as several souvenier discounts.
On the days we visited MK while the CMNHC was in progress, I curiously observed how the lots were configured. CMHNC parking was physically separate and not at all adjacent to MK Parking and trams. There were personnel in the CHMNC lot, and they seemed primarily concerned with the safety of people parking in the CMHNC area, ensuring that those people made it to a bus, rather than making any effort to prevent people from schlepping to the MK.
I would have to assess that if it were possible to utilize CMHNC parking as free MK Parking (and I am not sure that it is), it would come at a signicant cost in time, and at a considerable personal risk. The cost in time would come from how long it would take to schlep up to the trams, or to the TTC itself, while the risk would come from traversing an area of the lot that was not configured for safe pedestrian traffic. I might be inclined to try it if I were alone, and had the time to kill, but never with a family or a group of three or more.
