Has anyone used the folding potty seat from One Step Ahead at DisneyWorld?

I like that it has handles so DD can grab onto it instead of the icky toiket seat. :scared: I'm wondering how it fits on the toilets there.

Also, and potty advice for toddlers at DW? Is it true you should bring Post Its to avoid the auto flush? And what about the Child Care Centers - are those bathrooms generally cleaner than the other bathrooms?

Thanks! :flower3:

We had one of those things.....my kids HATED it! They said it pinched thier little tooshies! So, beware.

I think you can just use TP to cover the auto-flush thing. My 9 year old still hates those things!

My daughter is 3, she uses this very seat all the time. I carry it in her "toddler bag". We use it everywhere.....I am going to Disney in September, she will use it there too !!!
I read that the toilets in the child care areas do not automatically flush so not so scary

I bought a folding potty cover similar to that right when DD potty trained. We used it a few times right at the beginning, but then it became more of a pain than anything else to carry around. It was worth having at the beginning though for comfort more than anything else.

I can get a little crazy about germs, so I know how you feel about that. The toliets generally appeared clean and I just had to give up with freaking out if she touched things. We just wash hands thoroughly after she is done.

About the automatic flushers, when we were there in May, my DD was about 2-3 months post potty trained. She'd been around automatic flushers a few times and seemed okay, but I brought the post it notes with just in case. I made a comment about the toliets being "magic" at the beginning of the trip and she really bought into that and thought the automatic flushers were cool. Lucky me! We did hear/experience the terror of a child who was scared to death of the automatic flushers at MK. You could hear her screaming from outside the bathrooms. :confused3 The poor mother was trying to coax her into using the toliet, but everytime it would flush it would set her off again.

We had a folding potty seat that I carried diligently for the first few days when we first took it. My kids hated it also. We covered the 'magic eye' with TP, and the seat - letting it hang over the edge a bit for their hands to rest on. If the kids sit more toward the back of the seat they feel more secure if the regular seat is still too big. A thorough hand washing follows - sing a song to pass the hand washing time - should be as long as one refrain of small world to be effective

We have a similar folding potty seat that we got at Toys R Us. We used it for DS before he got the hang of standing to do his business. he wasn't crazy about it because it wasn't very stable. It served the purpose, though. We carried antibacterial wipes to clean it thoroughly before returning it to its bag. We still carry it with us for sit down emergencies.

onestepahead.com also has a cushioned folding potty seat.

My DS HATED the folding potty seat. He refused to use it after trying it once or twice. It wasn't very sturdy and pinched his bottom. I got ours from Toyrus, so maybe the one you're considering will work better.

We have the potty seat from One Step Ahead. We rarely used it with my middle child (for whom it was bought). I thought I would try it again with my third so I just pulled it out last week. He hated it. It is too flimsy. The cushioned one looks more sturdy.

I used it when DD was younger. I found it hard to fit on the toilet seat.

In general, DW bathrooms are very clean. We personally think the one by CP is the cleanest. We also used the Child center right next to it for DD when she was afraid of the flush. They do not flush automatically and they are child size. We have also used post-its and they work.

When potty training my DS4, we bought the Graco potty chair. I did this purposefully, because it has a cusioned seat that is removable: hence, when he was ready to move to the "big toilet," I thought the transition might be easier because I could just move the seat itself onto the big one. This worked like a charm, except for the fact that he then wouldn't use a toilet anywhere at all unless we had that seat with us. It wasn't fun, but at least I knew it was sanitary! :-) I even got "the seat" it's own special bag - one of those athletic bags with the long strings that people use to take their sneakers to the gym? It fits nicely under the stroller.

Worth considering if comfort is important. It also has handles on it for your little one to hang onto. Good luck in whatever you choose - potty training during travel is not always easy. :-)

Alas, I haven't the foggiest where it is since dd *hated* it from the very first time we tried to use it (and we tried several, just to be sure). We never found a toilet it fit well, and it didn't feel very secure to her (understandably!) when it was sliding all over.

We'll use the post-it note over the automatic flusher and plan on washing hands really well (though you might be surprised to learn how much filthier shopping carts, telephones, and even {gasp!} computer keyboards are than even public restrooms).

My kids use it with no problem & I got mine at TRU too.

I have seen the paper seats too but if they are like my kids, manily my oldest she'd be freaking out that she'd fall in.

My DS would not use the folding potty seat. It was too unstable, and he would cry and say he was too scared. I know that the bathrooms at the baby care center at MK do not have automatic flushers.
We found that DS was so excited to be there, that he just hurried up and did the deed so he could get back out to the park. We also sometimes put him on the potty backwards, he feels more stable that way.

I had the earlier version of that same seat. It folded the same way, but didn't have the handles. We never took it to wdw, but my older dd used it when she was little.

It did pinch her on occasion and then we just forgot to have it with us. It was helpful when she seemed so little and the toilet seats seemed so big.

LOL when i read in your title where it says "Potty seat for DW" I thought you meant for "dear wife." :rotfl:
