For those that fly- how do you go about finding the cheapest flights without the use of credit cards? Wondering if I'm missing a way to save some $.

I think it all depends on your location. We are flying out of Birmingham alabama and our flights were $60 ($120 rt). I purchased our flights in April for our sept trip.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Using a credit card to purchase airline tickets doesn't give you a discount, although it does provide you with more protections than paying cash.

I know some people use their credit cards to earn "miles" that they use to purchase airfare at discounted prices.

It takes a fair amount of 'miles credits' to get reduced fares! There are no special hints to getting cheaper fares. They're either there or they're not. Just keep looking. I assume you have a credit card so that you can book online. Or a debit card.

The issue may be that there online agents typically only accept credit cards, and "brick and mortar" agents typically charge service fees (assuming that they accept cash either). If that's the issue, I note that some airlines accept PayPal, which can be linked directly to a bank account.

I have a visa debit we use- just don't want any credit cards- I know some people earn "points" to use for discounted airfare. That's the reference to credit cards

Sign up for e-mails from the different airlines and places like Orbitz. I have gotten pretty good deals with Southwest that way :thumbsup2
