Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm new here and haven't figured out the search feature yet.

We're flying to Orlando in November and we'll have a 7 month old baby on the trip with us. Would appreciate any hints and tips on how to survive the 9 hour flight with a tiny traveller.

I have experience of taking a 10 month old. We got a seat with a skycot but she was too big for it!! However, she fell asleep on my lap and slept for most of the flight; OK for her but a little uncomfortable for me. Baby food on the flight was only a jar of mushy stuff so you may like to take your own.

Perhaps we were lucky as the only time the baby made a fuss was taking off on the way home (she obvioulsy didn't want to leave either!!).

Try not to worry - it probably won't be too bad, if it is then use calpol or similar to knock him/her out!!

.............That might well be a question being asked by the people sitting around you on the flight !! ( Just Joking !!)

On a serious note, Calpol (paracetamol suspension) is used for pain relief and reduction of fever. It doesn't sedate, and overdose is dangerous.

Hope you get people behind you who are willing to play interminable games of peep-o!

Make sure you have the "Skycot" it will take a load of your lap.

We went last time and our little one was 1 year and we still got the skycot, even though she could hardly fit in it (LOL)

Take a few fave snacks to calm her/him during the flight.

You may feel a little self aware but there are usually many families on board and will all remember what it was like with a little one.

Just go and have a great time. :)

We are flying with a 9 month old just before you. However, we are not on a kid friendly route, we are flying out to Vegas.

We are planning on wrapping a few toys in colourful paper and letting her open them every couple of hours to keep her amused with new stuff.

We are also going to make sure we have loads of snacks, foods and bottles for her....as well as a couple of changes of clothes.

To be honest I would not worry too much, as everyone (most people) know what baby's are like. Plus the majority of people sit with their headphones on the entire flight.

Just relax and enjoy
