Flying Vs Eurostar Help!!!

I have finally decided on the Sequoia Lodge Golden Forest 4nts in March for my Birthday/Honeymoon , We are 2 adults 2 children & live near York and have travel issues lol

1st Choice Flying (I hate Flying!!!)

Manchester Airport £70 to sleep fly & Park £500 flights £100 private transfer

or

2nd Choice Eurostar (tickets not out yet), train York to London, stay night before at kings cross

My issues are

*I hate Flying but am willing to put that aside for Disney & my children!
*returning on Eurostar and been in London late with the kids ( I will be taking my daughter out in term time and don't want to spend another night in London) but I could take an earlier non direct Eurostar back.
*Charles de gaulle Airport , How bad is it??
* The price Gamble with Eurostar/Train prices.

We always travel via Eurostar, it's a very easy and relaxing method of traveling to and from DLP than flying. The train station at DLP is in the hart of the Disney Village and a short walk to the parks.

If you don't want to take a direct train back to London at the end of your trip the change at Lille is very stright forward and if you want to stay in London over night there are plenty of cheap hotels near St Pancras station. We always stay at the Kings Cross Royal Scot Travelodge for about £44 per night for a double room.

The other advantage with the train is that you don't have a luggage weight allowance to worry about.

Not sure on flying (never done it to dlp) but i have been on direct eurostar twice before, so easy that way. Iam going again by direct eurostar with just my 6 year old dd in july. Unless you are travelling on a sunday you can get a train to london the same day so as you dont need to stay over (im in doncaster) Both times before we stayed over in london as we travelled out on a sunday, this time im not as didnt want to stay overnight in london. the direct eurostar arrives back at london at 6.46pm, so not too late, or as you said you could get a inderect train back for the return journey. I managed to get direct eurostar tickets for me and my dd for £118 return and that was for us both. The eurostar is just so easy and quick, i dont think i would do it another way.

Thanks! I have to say the thought of Charles de gaulle terrifies me!
I didn't realise the Eurostar arrived back as early as that (not accounting for time diff), so the train back to Doncaster/York would not be as bad/late as I thought.
Do you usually get good train prices from Doncaster?
How long should I leave between Eurostar Train connection?
And what time do you arrive at Disney realistically?

another advantage is we would go on the Sunday and still see dreams if it only runs on a weekend (if at all) and be there for St patricks day! with the flights we would have to go on Tuesday for the good price.
But going Eurostar may risk a fine from school. will fill my holiday form in now!

the direct eurostar arrives at dlp at 1.57pm (their time) i have booked our return tickets from london for the 8pm train this time. I always get a family and friends rail card, upto 4 adults and 4 children can travel on it. you have to travel with at least one child to use it. This time me and my dd could have got return to kings cross for £35 (we will arrive kings cross 8.55am, direct eurostar depars 10.15 am) however i decided to pay more and go first class lol so it cost me £72 (just a little treat for the two of us) I always use east coast. I was there st pats this year. If you do travel on sunday though so you have no set time to travel to london you will def get cheap tickets for that, we've had them for £25 for 4 of us return using the f&f railcard.If staying over night we stay at the london central travel lodge, its only 2 mins to the station. Id def say go eurostar Once you step off that train at the other end, you are there no transfers to do

We are going from Liverpool in 10 days by Eurostar first time, we normally fly but my husband is not a good traveller. We have booked an cheap hotel the night before and the night we come back.
But the trip this time is a lot less stressed than it normally is and we are looking forward to the trip even more so, l dont think we will fly again the train takes you straight into disney we hate the airport and the transfers.

We've gone both flying and Eurostar and it is by far the very best way to travel - Once you're there, your REALLY there!

I love the late train back, because you get full use of your park tickets. You can pack as much as you want, no weight restrictions. And you only need to be there about an hour before the train goes - no hanging around in airports for hours....

That said, we are flying this time.....we live quite far from the Eurostar and don't want to do lots of driving this time.

I have always flown before but found it lots of hassle, have tried bus, TGV and metro transfer and found them all slightly stressful.

After discovering that I am very seasick on a trip to France at Christmas, I discovered Eurostar on the way home and this is definitely the way forward.

We are doing it slightly differently though, because we are up North, we are driving to Ebbsfleet the day before, staying in a hotel overnight and then should have a more leisurely start to the day without the expense of a London hotel.

Might not work for everyone but on paper it seems more sensible than dealing with Central London.

Yes, we've done this many times at Ashford - much easier than in London.

I've never been, but we are flying. Mainly due to the location in which we live. It worked out cheaper and much less time consuming.
If I lived nearer London, I'd probably use Eurostar since I suffer with ear problems when flying. (I have bought ear plugs to help this time)
