Who has flown to HH before? If Im not mistaken, there is no airport on HH but we would have to either fly to Savannah or Myrtle Beach? We were thinking of flying to Myrtle Beach, renting a car for our stay at HH and the drive down to Disney, returning the car at Orlando airport after our stay and flying home.
We were planning on driving but since our recent trip to OKW in which we flew, we are realizing how much simpler flying is than driving from NJ!

Savannah would definitely be closer than Mrytle Beach. We have flown into Atlanta and driven down to HH to save $$ on airfare. That was about a 5 hr drive. I'm not sure how far Mrytle Beach is from HH, but Savannah is only 45 min.

There is an airport at Hilton Head, but it does not have major air carriers. It's more like a commuter airport and private business jets. Savannah is definately the airport to fly to.

I would fly into Savannah, rent a car there (45 minutes to HH)then drive down to OKW.Fly back from Orlando(MCO). You can return your car to MCO. Savannah airport has National on site, just as MCO does.

Check your rental car for drop fees. Those can really add up.

I flew in Jacksonville, FL one time which I think was around a 3 hour drive to HH. That would give you a Florida car for your return in Orlando which gets rid of the drop charges.

We have flown from Boston to HH with a change in Charlotte. Have also flown to Savannah. This year we got a good rate to fly US Air directly to HH, so we took it. Arriving 4/27 -- Yes!

Of course, we had our fingers crossed, booking w/ US Air, though last year we flew Delta and got bumped from our flight. After being rerouted around the world, we arrived at HH from Savannah after midnight.

Just make sure you have seat assignments, wherever you fly to.

Happy trails. MJ

Last year my family flew to HH on USAir. We connected in Charlotte and then got into Savannah about 30 minutes later. Had no problems at all, we really like Savannah airport. Easy in and easy out, besides it is only 45 minutes from HH. Can't wait to go back! Make sure you visit the city of Savannah, great history, food, entertainment!

I just got back from Hilton Head yesterday. We flew in from Chicago using US Air. 737 to Charlotte and connected directly to Hilton Head on a Dash 8 Turbo Prop. US Air had decent fares when we booked of $250. It was very smooth with all flights on time there and back. Very small airport in Hilton Head, but does have rental car counters and other amenities. It was beautiful to walk out of plane and be 5 minutes to resort.

Hi! There are many airports closer than the Myrtle Beach airport to Hilton Head. It is around 4 hours from MB to HH. Another choice would be Charleston, SC. It is about 2hours from HH. The best choices by far are USair into Hilton Head ( my parents have done this ) or Savanah.

Savannah Airport get my vote. Most "major" airlines go to SAV (Northwest, Delta, American I believe, along with others). Good Luck!:Pinkbounc :bounce:
