Flying question

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. We have been to WDW before, but drove. My husband's job has him traveling quite a bit..so he earns the points for free tickets. We're not sure if he will have enough points to pay for all of our tickets by Feb..when I want to book our trip. My question is....do you have to book the ME when you book the trip? I would rather go ahead and book our trip early..then if he gets enough points book Me. We will be driving if he does not get enough points.

Nope. You can book it later. You can also just add it to your reservation now, then add flight info later if you decide to fly.
