Where are you flying to or from that you have to worry about a snow storm closing the airport in October?

And no, flying on Halloween is just like flying any other day. Are you worried about too many witches on brooms interfering with flightpaths?

Nope no different. Other then our flight had a maintenance issue and we flew out on the plane that just arrived after it was serviced.

We flew from CT to Orlando 2 years ago...it was like any other day...

The holiday means absolutely nothing to the airlines as far as flights - will be no different than any other day. Also, almost 100% certain, no snow storms in that area to shut down flights!! :D

Pretty sure it would be some kind of special event to have a snow storm that early in the year! It's New York, not the Arctic.

hmmmmm....well....there WAS a freak snowfall a few days before Halloween in 2011. We only got about an inch, and it quickly melted. But I think other areas of the northeast got much more, perhaps up to a foot in the Boston area.

OP, don't worry. That was an extremely rare event. But it is possible.

I'm flying back from LAX on Halloween night, the red-eye. Maybe I should just use my broomstick.

I will more then likely be flying out on the first nothing to do with my fear of flying on hollowed but I never get to see my dad so the risk is worth the extra day plus if I am not on work on Monday no one will care but me

There's an equal chance of a snow storm (or any other kind of delay) on November 1 as there is October 31. There's absolutely nothing special about the change of the month.

Why do you have a fear of lying on Halloween?

I am just don't know much about the holiday as a kid from 3 to 18 every year like clock work I would get the flu or something so my memories are being under the covers with a movie maybe with a ice pop or something

No worries! Halloween isn't really a holiday! All the stores are open, banks, businesses, and schools are open. Everyone goes to work or school and carries on just like any other "regular" day of the year. It won't be like some other holidays, like Labor Day or Veteran's Day, when schools or businesses may be closed, resulting in people taking long weekends and traveling. There's really nothing to celebrate, no reason to expect large crowds traveling, etc. You'll be fine.

Weather-wise, even this far north (I am about 250 miles north of Boston) we won't be worrying about snow... yet. It might be cold, but snow would be pretty rare (last time I remember snow on Halloween was in 1997). You'll be fine.

Nope, Halloween isn't what we would call a 'holiday' when discussing flying. It's just like any other day of the year. As for it being less of a chance of snowing vs the next day? Nothing I would worry about....and I fly in and out of Worcester!!!! That's where you need to worry about 'weather'!!! Nope, most of us up here don't worry about weather until Dec!

I'm going to go out on a limb (not really!!) and say that your chances of getting home on the first are exactly the same as they are on the day before. It's just a non-issue. Book your flight home on the day you want to travel home. Plain and simple.

Thank you my plans originally were to fly out on the 1st but I was going to move to the 31 in case of a snow strom but if the cushion is not needed I will fly home on the firstb

I'm still puzzled why you thought there was such a significant risk of a snowstorm in the NYC area at that time of the year? And why you would alter travel plans by a day, over a month out, with no reliable weather forecasts for that period giving any warnings whatsoever.
