Need some questions answered and advice. We're flying into MCO on Thanksgiving Day for our Disney cruise on 11/29. We land at approx. 5:05pm so we'll have that Thursday night, all day Friday, and Friday night before going to the Port on Saturday morning. I'm finding that rental car prices are high, so I was wondering if we were to stay at the Hyatt at MCO Thursday night and Friday night what would there be to do? I know there are shops and restaurants onsite at MCO but are there any buses that one can take to venture out?

Unfortunately, you're kinda' stuck there at the Hyatt- there is very little to do conveniently located near the airport even though LYNX buses service MCO.

Without a rental car, your options are virtually "0".

Did you try going through the Costco website for the rental car? We found they had the best price on a 1 day rental.

Probably more to do if you go to the Port. I'm not sure how you can get from your hotel to the Space Center but I'd think you could do it without a rental car.

A rental car may not be cheap--BUT the Hyatt isn't cheap. Meals in the Hyatt/MCO won't be cheap and the only thing to do will be shop in the (overpriced) airport stores. Even an expensive rental car may wind up being a wash.

Have you thought about staying at a Disney resort instead of the Hyatt? You could probably even get a moderate for less than you are paying for the Hyatt. Then you could take the Magical Express to the resort. There are tons of things to do for free or low cost using Disney transportation. You could hang out at your resort, go to Downtown Disney, go to the Fort Wilderness and see the movie at the campfire, go mini-golfing, etc. You could either take the Magical Express back to the airport or arrange for your transportation to the cruise to pick you up at your resort.
