We are flying in the night before- after dinner- and wonder what is the best place to stay and best way to get to the ship. Any suggestions?

Check out Dave's Disney Cruise Line Tribute Site at http://www.dcltribute.com/lodging/ . He has good info about what's available at the port. Some people like staying at the Hyatt at the airport; others like the Radisson at the port, others take their chances on Orbitz or some such. Dave's site also has good info about transportation options. Another good place to check is www.castawayclub.com. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Orlando Renaissance the night before our cruise. I got the room for $50 on Priceline. Pretty much all of the hotels at the airport have a free shuttle to and from the airport. Then we took the Disney bus from the airport to the Port.
I have read that people sometimes get rooms much cheaper but our cruise was Valentines Weekend. You can search the boards for more info on how to bid on Priceline.
I think that Priceline books at the Hyatt which is inside the airport, the Holiday Inn Select, the Renaissance and the Marriott.
The Hyatt looked really tempting as our flight got in late, after midnight. The shuttle that picked us up didn’t take long though.
We took the bus, but there are town car and limo services too. They would probably could you there earlier.

If you are arriving late, I suggest staying near the airport. I like to get a hotel on Priceline. If you choose the highest star level near the airport, you should be able to get one for $28 to $33. We usually end up with the Marriott, although we've also gotten the Renaissance and the Holiday Inn Select. Then we have Happy Limo pick us up in the morning and transport us to the port. The hotel should have a free shuttle that will pick you up at the airport.

hi - we stayed at the sheraton suites by the airport - it has a free shuttle - back and forth from the airport - more than enough room - and it's cheaper than staying in the airport - we really wanted the airport so that it would be easy - and this was just as easy -

I followed Barb's advise and stayed at the airport. I got the Renaissance for $34 on priceline. Nice room and well worth the price.

I tried to get a room at the port on priceline but no luck.

We are staying right at the airport at the Hyatt MCO. No worry about shuttles or anything else till the next morning when we board our DCL bus. It is rather pricey though, but to us the convenience is worth it. - Mike
