Flying from Buffalo

Has anyone flown from Buffalo to Orlando recently?

I am wondering if us Canadians require anything further. Vaccine? Testing?

Thankfully I booked during their black Friday deal and got round trip for 5 for $1200 cdn

We're flying from Syracuse next week. Not because it was cheaper, but because it is less hassle. No testing required outbound, and more options inbound. eg. We can choose to test after landing in Syracuse instead of prior to boarding our domestic flight in FL, and then in the event of a positive test, we might choose to risk the fine, which IMO is unlikely anyway, and return home to quarantine.

We flew internationally last summer, and the pre-flight testing was a pain, and a bit stressful. Antigen tests sometimes throw false positives, and if that happens the day before your flight, there's not much time to adjust. I would do it again, if the only other choice was to stay home, but I wasn't really keen to go through it again when the land border was an option.

Of course, unless you're flying in the next few weeks, it'll probably all change again anyway!

I just booked tickets on Monday for Southwest in May. $230/person nonstop. I thought that was pretty good on short notice. I did avoid weekends & my flight out leaves at 6:30pm. I figured my 20-something daughters and I can spend that extra day time in Buffalo shopping and having a nice meal to start off our vacation! Plus no hotels needed at either end — will just park at airport.

We travelled out of Toronto in December. The pre-test at 24 hours was stressy to book, the upload of forms to Air Canada check-in kept crashing, and the hours we spent in lines at the airport … we can drive to Buffalo faster! I’m looking forward to it.

We flew from BUF and nothing required to drive over the border into the US, you’ve never needed to test driving over since they reopened but you do have to be fully vaccinated, some will ask for proof and some just want your verbal confirmation. Coming home though you still need to be vaccinated and provide a negative Covid test, either rapid within 24 hrs or PCR/LAMP/NAAT within 72 hrs.
