Flying from Atlantic City

We usually fly from Newark when we go to Disney but I can save almost $200 if we fly out of AC. What is this airport like? Any info, good or bad , would be appreciated. AC is 90 min away where EWR is 45 min but it might be worth the trip. Any advice?

The AC airport is about an hour from where I am in Mt. Laurel - Philly is about 1/2 hour or so. I LOVE the AC airport!! It's small, people are friendly & Spirit has always been on time the 3 times that I've flown w/them.

You can self-park in their long term parking lot & it's about $3.00 a day (form what I remember.) You must keep your parking ticket w/you - since when you return and after you pick up your bags, you put your ticket into one of the machines on the way out and pay for your parking. As you can tell, I think the AC airport is wonderful.

We always fly out of AC! We have never had any problems with Spirit Airlines. We are using them again this May.

We flew out of AC to Orlando last August. It is all good! Esp. the cheap and CLOSE parking. No parking lot G in the next county like at Newark!

We live 30 minutes from AC and love to fly out of there. We have flow Spirit to Orlando (many times), Fort Myers, and West Palm. It is a great airport as everyone else has stated for parking. It is less congested and parking cost $4.25 per day. Sirit has always been great...on time and friendly. I think you will be happy saving the $'s and going from ACY!

Another recommendation for flying out of AC. We've flown Spirit twice and had great experiences both times and just booked them for a flight in May.

I think the convenience of flying out of this small airport will definitely outweigh the additional time it will take you to get there.

We fly out of AC all the time now. It takes us about an hour but it is so worth it. When you get on the plane and it leaves the gate you just take off. My DH and I couldnt beleive how spoiled we are. Last spring we had to fly out of Newark when we left the gate the pilot said we will be leaving soon only 17 planes ahead of us we had forgotten about that. Another happy AC airport traveler! We flew Spirit, out of AC, last November, for the first time. We were very happy with the whole experience. The more convenient (and much cheaper) parking, we got our luggage a whole lot faster than Philly (the last time we flew out of PHL, we had to wait almost 1 1/2 hours for our luggage! We were home by that time in November!) It's a little farther for us, too, but it's worth the extra 15-20 minutes driving time...we make that up in the air...it's a shorter flight from AC than PHL! We will be flying out of AC again in December.
