Flying Delta

This is something that people should always do if they want financial protection. If travel agents want to put the different components of a holiday together for a customer rather than booking a package they are now supposed to have an ATOL so the customers money is protected.

People do sometimes have to wait a few months to get money back though, it's not instant.

The other danger of booking all the different parts of a holiday through different people eg Villa, flight, car is that if there is a problem with say the flight you would still possibly be left with the villa to pay for as that would be nothing to do with the flight. However this is quite often the cheapest way these days to book a holiday.

Unfortunately it will take a big airline or similar to go bust and leave people in the lurch before a lot of people realise this.

I would always advise people to book travel on a credit card wherever possible.

I quite often book my hotels direct with the hotel (if I can get as good a rate) so I don't have to pay until I get there so wouldn't lose anything if I had to cancel.
