Hi all,
DD8 and I are leaving for the World Saturday morning!:woohoo: Although I tend to be a planner, I don't like to plan my meals i.e. I didn't even know we'd be going to Disney 180 days ago, and I certainly didn't know what I'd have a taste for in January!;)

We're not big table service people, but I will probably try to land a ressie, maybe two, over our five day trip. What is the best way to go about this? Should I call WDW Dining when I get to the parks each day and ask what's available for lunch at any restaurant? Will the CM laugh at me and say "nothing idiot, you should have called six months ago"?

There aren't that many tables for parties of two as most people eating there are families. However, you can call the day of and see what is available. Be flexible, though.

If you are staying onsite, you might want to call Dining from your room. It's free and you would save cell phone minutes.

flexible on time and restaurants you should be able to find somewhere to eat. Probably not from 12:00 -1:00 or 6:00 - 8:00 though.

I agree, just call 407-wdw-dine the day of and see what's available in the park you'll be at (or at a nearby resort) a little flexibility and I bet you guys will eat like kings regardless of your not calling in 180 days ago ;):thumbsup2

I agree - people change their plans all the time, and you might be able to get some good cancellations!

A few months ago my friend was in WDW. They had no ADR's for a Saturday morning and on a whim called in to see if CRT was available for breakfast the next morning. (party of 4)

Know what? It was!

Thanks everyone! I think it will definietely be worth a shot. I'll call Dining from my room in the mornings. I'm hoping for something in DHS, maybe Sci-Fi if I'm lucky.

Plane takes off at 8:25 tomorrow morning, better go to sleep!

We just got back and it was very slow. I had no problem getting tables for 2, 5,7 or 10 people at the last minute. We showed up early and hideously late for some ADRs...no problem, seated right away. I called WDW Dine from my cell, but the hold time was very long. We walked right in to a few places. It was a very easy time to get table service seating. I don't really like counter service unless we're on the run. Have a great time!!:cheer2:

Why not try now, just to book a few?

You can always cancel that morning if you can get something that appeals more. But at least you'll have a better shot at the ones that sound appealing.
