Apologies if this has already been done ...

If you're flying with FlyGlobespan from Glasgow, you can now book your seats for Sanford on-line on their web site. As might be expected with a "no frills" service, they do charge for advance booking (£7 per seat each way but you can book one way only if you want to).

You can also book your in-flight meals and the menus are on-line.

Thanks Phil, good to know - I don't remember this being posted before :thumbsup2

Hi

The prices look really good.

We could fly buissness class for the price we are paying this year.!!

Wow...I just had a look at their website and their business class prices are incredible. It would be worth taking a connecting flight to Glasgow just to benefit. £600 per adult (return) in the middle of August for a 50" business class seater sleep is incredible value-for-money. Has anybody tried business class with Fly Globespan before? Any comments? The flight times are great too - with outbound leaving at 9.30am and inbound not leaving Orlando until 6.30pm. :goodvibes

I can't believe that thread a few weeks ago with people complaining about how unfairly the travel industry treats the Scottish!

Thanks!

I've looked into connecting flights from East Midlands to / from Glasgow to see how feasible it would be. Going up the night before flying to the USA would cost £7.99 and on the way back it's only £2.99 - bargain!

Until you realise that:

a) The cost of a Glasgow hotel room(s) the night before
b) The flight back is only 50 minutes after you are supposed to land back in the UK which is cutting it too fine!
b) Luggage allowances - on budget airlines these are non-existant. Imagine the extra cost of your shopping packed cases?

However, for anyone living in the North of England or Scotland this seems to be a very good deal.

FlyGlobespan do allow you to buy excess baggage at a charge of £15 per 10Kg providing you book it and pay in advance. Turn up at the airport without pre-paying and they will charge you the same punitive rate as everyone else.

Where did you find that rate for East Midlands to Glasgow? We were planning on getting the train up but at that rate I think flying is a better bet.

Oh, don't worry. Just found it ... BMIBaby. You're right though ... the flight times are no good at all. Back to plan 'A' then.

Aye, it was BMI.

Regarding the excess baggage, I meant on the BMI flight back from Glasgow. You can have big, heavy suitcases coming back from the USA but if you tried to check these onto a budget airline like BMI, Ryanair or Easyjet they'd sting you bigtime.
