Hi

Having been to Orlando a few times before i've decided to go for the fly drive option this time so we can chose what hotels we stay in. As in our past hols you put the name of the hotel that you are staying in on the Visa waiver form but this time we don't know where we are going to check in to.
Does anyone know what you have to write on the form??

Any experiences or info would be helpful.

Thanks

Matt

have you not booked a hotel for your first night yet?

If you have, you put that hotel in.
If not, you really need to book a hotel, as you could spend hours on the first night trying to find a decent hotel, especially if there is a convention on

I'm not going till September 26th and the hotel i stayed in last year had loads of rooms empty (Quality Inn International). It seemed to me that if you book into a hotel out there you can save loads (going by the prices they were advertising last year) over the travel agents over here. I got my currency when it was $1.86 to the £ so it will see me right i hope.

I know the area quite well so if i need to go a bit further afield it won't be a problem for the first night. :teeth:

I was advised that if you're going on a fly drive, to book a hotel for your first night (you can get a night for about £10 on expedia.) That way you have an address to put on your forms and it can help you get through customs quicker, you can always change hotels around from the next day onwards.

Also having that first night hotel would help if your flight got delayed a lot. The last thing you want is to be arriving in FL really late and then having to drive around looking for a hotel.

When we flew with Mytravel they advised Fly-Drive passengers to put the address of the Mytravel office in FL on the form.

We have been a few times fly drive and never bothered to find our hotel until we got there. You could put your tour operators office address on the form

if you do not have a room booked they are entiteled to refuse you entry to the usa this came in to force last year dont take risk book a room for that first night so you get in .we went a few years back thinking the same as you that there would be plenty of rooms available but as we fly in later from the uk the rooms go fast so there is less to choose from you get better rates for the rooms if you book online in advance than if you just turn up yor more likely to get the rack rate (full rate) for the room

I would put the address of your tour operator on it.

We have done this twice and never had a problem.I don't think they will refuse you for not having a room booked. They might if that part of the form's left blank though. :confused3

I have read that I am now required to provide the address at which I will stay in the United States. Is this correct?

Visitors to the United States have always been required to furnish to U.S. immigration the address at which they will stay in the United States. This information is currently collected from the arrival/departure record card, I-94 or I-94W that the visitor completes and presents to U.S. immigration on arrival in the United States. With the implementation of the Advanced Passenger Information System this data will be collected by the airlines and transmitted electronically to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in advance of the passengers arrival in the United States. Information concerning APIS is available from CBP at www.cbp.gov.

From the usa customs web site

I once had to doorstep 6 hotels in I Drive at midnight due to not having pre booked and after af light delay. There was a convention in town. Ended up having to take an expensive suite. I had pre booked accomodation on site starting the next day and had figured on picking up areally cheap room for the first night as we were just going to go straight to bed.

Thanks for all the responses, its given me some food for thought on the situation.

I will be taking the option of the first night booking and then go from there.

Thanks again

Matt
