We were eating out last night and the breadbasket had biscuits, cornbread, and yeast rolls. Which would you reach for first?

All of the above??? :)

Ok, I guess the yeast roll, then the corn bread and then the biscuit. What can I say, I am addicted to bread!! :)

This totally contradicts my Southern heritage, but I prefer yeast rolls...:D I like yeast doughnuts, too. MMMMMMMMM......Krispy Kreme!

I love cornbread, with a little honey butter :) but if they try and make it interesting by putting salsa or peppers in it, bring on the yeast roll.

But Popovers would win hands down if those were an option, yum!!!

I'd also go for the cornbread first.

Tamie, popover, yum. Where do you find popovers at a restaurant? Or are you talking about homemade ones?

It depends on what I'm eating. If its just bread before the meal probably cornbread, biscuit, yeast roll in that order.

Yeast Roll, Biscuit, Cornbread! But who am I kidding? I'd probably grab the basket and keep it for myself and eat all three! :D

YUM! If I still ate bread, it would be the cornbread, yeast roll, biscuit in that order...but only if they're all warm with some real butter.

This is why I could never do Atkins. ;)

I love all three! What a hard decision. I'd probably reach for the yeast roll first though. Though I do love biscuits and of course corn bread, too. lol See what I mean. :teeth:

I'd snag ALL the yeast rolls - so you guys better be quick!;)

Herc - it's not easy to find popovers in restaurants any more. Usually super club type places carry them. The Bolo Inn in Menomonie, WI has them, or used to when I was in college.

I make homemade ones though, that way I get to eat them nice and hot!

I'm hungry for popovers and cornbread now!

I think I am the only person born and raised in the South that doesn't like cornbread. I would reach for the biscuit first!

I agree it would depend on what was for dinner and of course where we were. Logan's has the best rolls. Biscuits are really reserved for breakfast around here unless you are have fried chicken or country fried steak with mashed potatos and gravy. I think I know what I am having for dinner tonight.
