Does anyone know the recipe for the flubber the make in the oceanears lab? My DD was proud of her creation and I would like to surprise her by making it at home. It smelled like soap, so I guess that is the main ingredient.

My niece works in the kids clubs...I will ask her...gimme a few days. She is home right now but she is BUSY visiting!!!

tep 1

Measure out 1 and 1/3 cups of warm water into a small container.
#
Step 2

Add 2 teaspoons of 20 Mule Team Borax. Mix well until the Borax is completely dissolved into the water. Set this mixture to the side.
#
Step 3

Measure out 1 and ½ cups of warm water. Add 2 cups of Elmer's White Glue. You can get gallon size containers of glue through online school supply websites or at teacher supply stores.
#
Step 4

Add a small amount of poster paint of your choice to this mixture and mix well until it is the color you want it to be. Don't add too much or it will come off on your hands as you play with the flubber.
#
Step 5

Add glitter to your flubber if you desire and mix well.
#
Step 6

Add the Borax mixture to the glue mixture. Mix it well with your hands. Once you've thoroughly mixed it up, you are done and ready to play with your flubber.

Have used the above recipe and it works. Just to note that if you use white glue the flubber comes out solid. I asked my DD's what they use on ship and they said the Elmer's transparent school blue glue:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for this recipe!

We just got off the Wonder yesterday morning and upon the limo driving us back into the Orlando airport, DS realized he left his flubber in the cabin refrigerator. Well, many tears and hysterics there...sigh. (Didn't even want to get into the "TSA probably won't let this on anyway" chat...)

So, thanks to you guys, we'll be able to make our own. Not as great as doing it on the ship, but as close as we're gonna get for a while...!

The DIS is terrific!

(Thanks, kbmo4444 - the Elmer's blue glue tip is great! DS's flubber was sort of a translucent yellow - not a solid color - so I was wondering how they achieved that...)

what exactly is this flubber? is it like a playdo? keep reading about it but i have no wee ones so never seen it. what do you do with it? :surfweb:
