Michelle, I'm so sorry about your aunt.
I'm glad you were able to see her, and have her recognize you, though. I hope you'll be able to let go of the feelings of guilt; you have to put your immediate family first and that is what you're doing. Your family will understand that. My MIL died 34 days after being diagnosed; she had 5 different types of cancer. So I can relate to the sudden-ness and not feeling prepared to let go.
