Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Hey Michelle! :goodvibes I'm playing catch-up now! So much to comment on...I loved all of your St. Louis pics! :thumbsup2 So glad to hear that you enjoyed the Cirque show. Chris and I have seen two shows...one that we didn't care for and one that we loved! The Disney one seems to be getting great reviews! I LOVE your new D & B handbag......so cute!!! :) Sorry that you didn't have a great meal at WPE...we tried it for the 1st time on our recent trip and had a fantastic experience (but we didn't get the pizza). The baseball pics you put together are terrific...that is so sweet of you to make cds for all of the parents! I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt/godmother...

Take your time Michelle. We aren't going anywhere.:goodvibe Life gets in the way sometimes with DISing but it happens to all of us.:thumbsup2

HI!! I think it is so funny that you are worried about being off of DIS for a few days at the same time I was worried about being off a whole MONTH! You are a great DISer!

Love your update. I am so happy you had a great time at the show. Something I want to see for sure.

I am loving your D&B! Did you see the new princess one? I am going to have a hard time deciding in December! Where can you buy D&B purses in the parks? (or where is the most fun shop to do so)

I got the same castle ornament! My SIL has the tinkerbell one, GREAT choices! I am so looking forward to reading more!

Michelle, you get to it when you can. I am sorry to hear about your aunt/godmother and will keep her and all of her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Lynne! I saw your first trip update - I'm so excited to hear about your trip!

I'm kind of addicted to the Disney D&B bags......

I wish now that I had gotten something else at WPE, really I was probably just lamenting the fact that there would be no EoS that trip and I wouldn't have liked anything that I ordered

Take your time Michelle. We aren't going anywhere.:goodvibe Life gets in the way sometimes with DISing but it happens to all of us.:thumbsup2

I always think that I'm going to have more free time in the summer because I'm not running kids to and from school, but that is never the case - you'd think I'd learn.....

Hey Katie! I was beginning to worry if something had happened to you, you were gone a long time - you and Becky both, you big slackers!

I haven't seen the princess D&B - oh no, another one to add to my list! In December the only place that I saw the D&B bags were at World of Disney in DTD, but in May they were all over the place. I can't even remember what stores I saw them in, but I know I saw them in the windows of at least one store in every park (except AK, don't remember seeing them there), and they were also at many of the resorts, you shouldn't have any trouble finding one. WoD did seem to have the biggest selection though :thumbsup2

Michelle, you get to it when you can. I am sorry to hear about your aunt/godmother and will keep her and all of her family in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear the new of your aunt/godmother, Michelle! I will keep her in my prayers!!:goodvibes

PS: Prayers to your Aunt.

Thank you all so much, that means alot. Her illness sort of came out of left field. I saw her in April when we went up for my grandmothers funeral and she seemed fine. All of a sudden I get a call from my stepmom that my aunt has cancer. It's in her lungs, liver, bones and brain - yeah, it's not good. She has decided to go ahead with treatment and just see how things go. So, I appreciate the prayers, she truly needs them.

Day 6, Thursday May 6th

Today was Hollywood Studios day and I was ready for some Toy Story Madness! I've done the whole follow the herd, push, shove, get to the front, hurry, hurry thing before so I was prepared for crazy dash to TSMM, I wasn't so sure Mom was though.

We had a very short wait for the bus, got to DHS and went inside to wait for rope drop. We really were pretty close to the front to see the opening show. It was cute as always, I think Mom enjoyed it. No pictures though, my camera lens was all foggy from the humidity. Soon we were on our way and surprisingly there was no pushing and shoving, people moved at a brisk pace, but it wasn't bad and it really wasn't overly crowded - maybe that was because we were towards the front..... Regardless we were soon at the ride entrance, where I saw something new - the green army men were stationed at the entrance making sure that everyone had their entire party with them, they were NOT allowing one member to grab FPs and join the rest of their party later, I've never seen that before!

We waited 5 or 10 minutes for the ride, not long at all. I'm not very good at this, but it's so much fun! I scored 132,000 which beat Mom's score of 58,000 so I was feeling pretty good about myself. After our ride was over we decided to grab a set of FPs for later, I fully expected to have to wait in a long line to get them, but surprisingly there was no long line, there were only two people in front of me! So much for the 'madness' :woohoo:

Ride over and FPs secure we made our way over to RnRC. I finally pulled out my camera and took a few photos

I think Mom was a little nervous about trying this one, but she was a trooper and rode for me. I just kick myself when I think back to my first two trips when I refused to get on this ride, wasted time I tell you! We only waited about 15 minutes, not bad at all, and I loved it as usual. Mom said she rode the whole thing with her eyes closed and although she didn't LOVE it, she did say that she enjoyed it more than Everest.

Next on the list was the

Where we got the gangster.....AGAIN :sad2: In the many, many times that I have ridden this attraction I've only had the cowboy once - it's always the stupid gangster. The ride was fun though, we had a VERY peppy guide, he was having way too much fun with his job. It's always good to have a CM that enjoys what they do, it makes everything that much more fun.

After our tour through the history of film we made our way over to the Animation building to do the drawing class. It was weird because the building itself was closed while they took out the UP characters and added Lotso :scared1: (what were they thinking with that decision?!), so we had to line up at the door where you normally exit the class. While were waiting in line someone in front of me said my name, it was our very own manntra! We discussed what we had done after our tequila cave meet the day before and soon it was time to draw. We drew Pluto, who is one of my favorite characters, but I sure can't draw him. :lmao: Here's the finished product

IMG_4210.jpg

His nose and tongue are way too big and his ears are way too small. If I didn't know it was Pluto I'd probably never guess who it was supposed to be! Mom's wasn't much better

IMG_4211.jpg

I should have taken a picture of Tracy's too, hers actually looked like Pluto....

I rolled up our drawings and put them in my camera bag and we headed out and over to

I love looking through here and watching the film at the end, seeing the story of Walt's life and watching his dream come true is always inspirational.

It was now time to use our TSMM FPs. Mom did better this time, her final score was 85,000. I was about the same at 135,000.

Our bellies were starting to rumble at this point, where should we go for lunch?????

Wow.......your TSM experience was way different from ours!!! You got to ride it and got FPs for later....very cool! :cool1: We were at rope drop, yet still encountered the longest FP line I've ever seen...crazy!!!

So glad you got your mom to try RnRC...it's such a great ride! :goodvibes

I LOVE the animation academy.....that's so cool that you got to draw Pluto!!!

Hummmmmm....interested in seeing where you went for lunch!

This time of year always seems to be crazy busy for everyone! Lots of prayers for your aunt!

Great update! Hurray for being at the front of the crowd for TSMM! You have had a wonderful day so far at DHS! So cool that you ran into Manntra! Can't wait to see where you ate!

Great morning at DHS! Your mom and Ellie rode RNRC the same way and had the same opinion of it too!:rotfl:

The Great Movie ride thing cracks me up-- we have ALWAYS gotten the cowboy side until this trip when we got the gangster. We were so excited to get it!! It seems that people always get one or the other a lot!!

I think you did just fine on your drawings.:goodvibes He is hard to draw. Ellie and I drew him last summer but from a different perspective than yours.

My thoughts are with your aunt, you, and your family during this time.:goodvibes

Great morning at DHS! My BIL wouldn't ride RnRC until our very last night one trip and he kicked himself that he waited! I was terrified the first time I went on and kept my eyes closed the whole time....now it's one of my fav'!

Love TSM....nothing better!!

I did make copies for everyone, I had about 1000 pictures from the whole season so I made each parent a CD that included any photo that I had of their kid.

AND we are leaving Friday to take a quick trip up to Minnesota to see my aunt/godmother who has been diagnosted with stage 4 cancer. It's been a crazy week to say the least. BUT, I will get an update up today, it may be midnight, but it will get posted today

Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Wow! I'm sure all the parents really enjoyed that disc! That is so thoughtful.

I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt...is she at Mayo? If so and you happen to see any "Reimers" (my old last name) nurses there, tell them you know me! I have several relatives working there. I hope all goes well with treatment with your Aunt...how horrible that it was completely sudden and spread so far too. :sad2: Prayers being said!

About the update...
There wasn't a TSM mad-dash?!! How nice! And the addition of the Green Army Men is a great idea too. :thumbsup2

I have the Animation Academy on my wish list for DHS. I am going to put Henry in one of the seats and guide his hand - should be kinda fun.

I've never gotten the cowboy - IF I remember, I'm gonna request it this time!

Our paths must have kept crossing while at HS because I did a lot of the same things as you, except RnR because I had to much stuff and didn't feel like getting a locker. I think your Plutos look great. What's wrong with them. Good job. Sorry I missed the animation class because I couldn't endure the 20 min wait. :scared1:

I always get the gansta' scene too. I have had the cowboy scene once, mmmhhhh, maybe twice. It's always that same old gangster and they are NEVER as good as the actor in my original ride so I always fine them just ho-hum.

Your mom is a trooper for riding RnR. Nothing wrong with closing your eyes on that one!

Terrific update! Glad to hear the rush to TSMM wasn't so bad! We definitely experienced our fair share of pushers last time!!
I have never attempted Animation Academy-- I know my drawing would be far, far worse than anyone else's!!

I enjoyed your DHS update. Be safe on your drive to MN. Prayers are with you & your family.

I'll pray for your aunt and for the family during this difficult time. I pray that you'll also have safe travels and that you guys can bring some joy with your visit!

Ooo, I like that the soldiers made sure that everyone in the party was together. I wouldn't feel comfortable going to get a FP and meeting Weird on line or vice versa, so we would never do it. But that gives the "advantage" to others, so I'm glad it kind of forces people to choose one or the other.

We did the same thing; we rode first then got FP for later. It was okay that they were for later in the day because we were planning on staying. No waiting at all except for one person!

I've read that it's possible to ask the CMs if you could get on a ride that will get you the scene you want on the Great Movie Ride. If that's possible, I'd like to see the cowboy one too. We saw the gangster one last time. The CM gangster was fun though even though he kind of scared some of the kids! He was a very young gangster though! Haha, probably my age or possibly even younger!

The pic of your mom holding her drawing is great! The picture composition and the setting itself is great, but your mom looks so beautiful!

Michelle, love your Studios update. We only got to do TSM once last year and can't wait to try it twice this year at least. I think your Pluto picture is darn good. I can guarantee you that I won't even be taking a picture of whatever character I get. I'm a terrible drawer. I have to disagree with your mom...I prefer Expedition over Rock & Roll. But, in truth, I could do without both of them. Luckiloy with Mark's surgery I won't have to ride them this year. :woohoo::woohoo:

Sorry to read about your aunt. Happy thoughts to her and all of your family.

Sounds like you had a great morning at HS...and I think your Pluto, and your mom's, actually look great!
