Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Love your D&B bag. I have the wristlet in the sketch pattern and now debating the new colored ones.

I have heard great things about the Cirque show in Disney. Funny that you just posted about your experience because my husband just took me to the Ovo show of Cirque this weekend for my birthday. That was a fantastic show too! I was amazed by what some of those performers could do!

I love the christmas store too. I always have a hard time narrowing down the ornaments!

Great update! :thumbsup2 I think La Nouba sounds wonderful, but I'm like you---it can be pretty expensive for a family of 5 (when you've already spend $3000 or more on a trip)---Makes it hard to justify it. I know that Kevin saw the Cirque show in Vegas a few years ago when he was there for a conference. He said it was amazing!

I understand about the not taking pictures. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing things by constantly taking a picture. It's just nice to walk and look around. :)

Why in the world would you buy that grumpy mug for Don? ;)

I definitely want to see Cirque in person someday. I've seen it on TV, and it looks so amazing! So sorry you didn't care for your WPE meal. When Tom and I ate there, he got the pasta and it was definitely better than my pizza. :confused3 I love the new bag and hoodie you got! :yay: That's a great idea to have a small tree just for Disney ornaments; I may have to steal that idea this Christmas! :rolleyes1

Cirque always sounds so amazing! Joe has ZERO interest. I would go see it in a heartbeat though! I do have a "girls trip" very loosely planned with a friend for the future...so perhaps then...

You got some great souvies!!! Wow!! Another D&B bag. And yes, "summery" is a word in the bag world. And according to my spell check, it's a real word period! :thumbsup2 The sketch is very summery-and cute! I'm debating on the wristlet for myself...

Sorry to hear WPE wasn't good! That is VERY surprising. It's usually completely delicious. Joe has gotten many pizzas from there and devoured each bite. Hopefully it was just an off night and they didn't change their recipe...

I've done a couple different versions, I'll have to upload them and show them to you, they turned out pretty cute!

I would love to see them!

Loved hearing about Cirque....that's something that is still on my to do list.
We had great pasta at WPE in october! Sorry the pizza wasn't great.
Great shopping spree!!!! I am not a purse girl at all....in fact, I hardly ever carry one & if I do I like little purses. I am thinking the one you got would qualify as a little purse.....might have to look at those when I go to DTD in just over 2 weeks!!!! I am not sure Eric understand that he will be sending me off on my own to DTD while he's in a meeting for................unsupervised Disney shopping. :woohoo::lmao::cool1::banana:

Sounds like a great trip to St. Louis!!! I have always wanted to see the arch so I'm so glad you took so many pictures of it!!! :goodvibes

That cathedral was absolutely gorgeous! I really enjoyed all of your pictures of St. Louis including the stadium, zoo, & union station.

Great update from Disney! I really want to go to Cirque someday. It sounds really good!

I love DTD! This past June was my FIRST ever time there!!! All of your purchases were great! I loved that hoodie, I almost bought the pink one just like it! I have the wallet that matches the navy shirt you bought! And of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Dooney!!! :lovestruc

I know what you mean about the ornaments. It was sooo hard to choose one I liked. I had tons in my basket but was worried about them breaking on the plane. I ended up just buying my son the T-Rex one from Toy Story. Although I really wanted a first Christmas Minnie for my niece, the silver Mickey head ornament, a Moroccan orange/purple ornament, and about twenty others!!! So I completely know what you mean...it is so hard to choose! I loved the ones you chose, especially the Castle one! Thats a great idea to have your own little tree with only Disney ornaments!

I love reading about your trip! Can't wait for another update!

So bummed that your pizza wasn't the best! We often go to WPE at least once or twice on the trips we have had and never been disappointed, but I hope you wont totally write it off! I have to agree, though, the sandwiches are good at Earl of Sandwich!

I love love love your ornaments! I am scheming to do the same thing with my tree that I brought last Christmas!!!! SO we'll have to compare notes!! ;) I got a castle similar, and I bought that same Tink in February!!! I got some new ornaments this trip too!!!

the DB bag is soooo nice! Lovely.

Cant wait to see DHS day!! :goodvibes

First off, St. Louis- OK is this St. Louis, Missouri or Oklahoma?! Because I believe the arch is in Missouri but your shirts said "Oklahoma Cardinals" and its also St. Louis Cardinals! hehe DH's best friend lives in Missouri and we have never been to visit and looking at your pictures made me want to visit there sooo very bad.. if that is Missouri!! hehe:rotfl:

Thanks for the review for Cirque- I have always wanted to go and this last trip in May 2009- we planned on going and then when it came to booking the tickets there were NO shows during our time there.. I'm guessing it was there break or something. But I have always wondered if the most exp. are actually the best seats because sometimes being upfront isn't the best idea and you don't get the full picture. But I'm glad you did it and liked it.

I like all your apparel! I was looking on disneystore.com to buy some world stuff because I'm having withdraws and I almost bought that zip-up hoodie and that tshirt! hehe

I'm glad you enjoyed St. Louis. What a shame about the tournament not being well run. And too bad you didn't get to spend more time at the zoo--it's a really great one, and I love that its free. We go all the time, except for this summer since the heat has been unbearable! I do like Six Flags for the thrill rides, but you're right--its no Disney!

Glad you enjoyed Cirque so much!

I know, I know, I know ... I've left you gives in The Seas with Nemo & Friends for a really long time! Sorry about that! Strangely, my summer job seems to be taking up more of my time than my regular school year job! I'm kidding; my regular teaching job is way more work. I'm just procrastinating with my lesson prep now, so the work hangs over my head until late at night when I'm forced to work!

I went to see a Cirque show with my students for a field trip. We saw Wintuk, which was about a boy who was trying to bring snow back to winter. I didn't expect much from it, but once the stunts started, I was amazed! I think your show had more acrobatics in it because our stage was probably smaller. But wow, some people have so much skill ... and so much courage! I don't know how I would ever even think to try LEARNING how to perform one of those stunts!

From all the reviews, I too want to try WPE. However, I don't want to ever feel regret that I didn't have EoS since I know that it's delicious! Same thing goes for choosing my sandwich for EoS. I didn't want to try something new because I knew that what I really wanted was the same one I got last time. I didn't want to think, "I still want the All-American!" after I ate the other one that I chose.

Ooo, love the hoodie! I think that if I ever purchased a DB bag, I'd be too scared to use it! I actually have a brown leather barrel bag with outlines of the Mickey head in gold. It was on the Disney Store website for a while, but of course, I didn't get it ... even when it was on sale! I had to search for it on eBay because I was upset I didn't get it. Of course, even though I spent a little over $40 for it, I've only used it less than 5 times! I don't want to get it dirty!

I really enjoyed your trip to St. Louis.....I like when writers throw in their side trips..gives you a chance to see a location that you might normally not and makes the TR go on a little longer :goodvibes How fun that you dipped your toes in the Mississippi!! :)

I can't believe some of the baseball drama that my boss goes through..his son is in a travel league constantly going to tournaments through the summer and sometime this month they have a week long tournament in Cooperstown. Some of the parents on his team are just outrageous and forget that it's about the kids...personally I think my boss over dramatizes everything and is just as much outrageous!!! :rotfl2:

Tracy

I was leary about putting my toes in the water - I have this thing about dirty water, don't want to get in it  yeah I know, I'm silly - anyway, I did it just so that I could say I did :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh Tracy, your boss is probably NOT over dramatizing the drama involved in his son's travel team - seriously it gets to be ridiculous! There are so many people out there trying to live through their kids and thinking that they have a future major leaguer on their hands - it's crazy! I just want my kids to play at a level that challenges them and for them to have fun.

Great update. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I have to admit when I saw it in Vegas I fell asleep during it (could be that my BF and I had walked the entire Strip and had a drink at each Casino :rotfl:). We were on the fence between WP and EOS for this trip as we've never done either, but we are going with EOS. Love the shopping spree. The gift for your DH is PERFECT! And I love your new bag! I wonder where I've seen that before. ;)

Yeah, I think I may have fallen asleep too if I'd had several cocktails before hand!

You can never go wrong with EoS!

Seen that bag somewhere before have you? ;)

Don actually loves his coffee mug, it's big and holds alot, he uses it almost everyday.

I also enjoyed "our" excursion to St. Louis. Thanks so much for sharing. Not somewhere that I will probably ever go so it is fun to see! I also like seeing what my DIS friends do in their non-Disney life. :)

I hear nothing but fantastic things about that show at Downtown Disney. And yet I still resist. Not sure why. Will definitely put it on my possibilities list.

So bummed to hear you didn't love WPE. That's on my "I want to try it list" but somehow EoS always lures me with that perfect BLT. For what it's worth your margherita pizza does LOOK good!

Such fun shopping. Love all your purchases. I think your plan for the Disney tree is awesome! That will be such fun for you to look at everyday during the holiday season!

Glad you enjoyed St. Louis with me! I enjoy seeing other places too :goodvibes

Cirque is one of those things that it's hard to pull the trigger on, it's an expensive ticket for sure. We really enjoyed it though.

I'm sure I just hit WPE on a bad night, my pizza wasn't bad, it was Mom's that was the disappointment, and they did offer to fix it, we just didn't want to wait. I'll probably try it again in the future, but not before I've returned to EoS :thumbsup2

I'm DH will roll his eyes when he sees my Disney tree......

Glad you enjoyed Cirque so much! I always hear such rave reviews of it! It must be a truly spectacular show!

Love all your purchases especially the new Dooney and Bourke bag -- so cute!!!

It really was a great show, I don't want to oversell it, but we certainly enjoyed it :thumbsup2

I really like my new D&B and I get lots of compliments on it!

Now this is my kind of update...love shopping in WDW and I always love seeing what other people get. Yay for your new Dooney and Bourke bag! I have a tote bag that is really similar to that t-shirt you got.

Cirque du Soleil sounds awesome. Eventually we will have to try that. Even if it is expensive it's not something we'd be doing every trip anyway so to splurge once would probably be worth it.

I don't think I saw the tote bags that were like that t-shirt, otherwise I may have come home with one of those too

You're right, La Nouba is not something you are likely to go to again and again so putting it into the budget for jsut one trip would be worth it.

Never much into the idea of Cirque, but we're going to Vegas at the end of the month and everyone is telling me to see LOVE, the Cirque show set to Beatles music. We'll give it a try, probably-- I feel like everyone who's ever seen a Cirque show has loved it!
Sorry your WPE dinner wasn't that great!! We LOVE it there-- maybe they were having an off night? My pizza was cooked perfectly the last time.
Awesome purchases!! I especially love all of the ornaments-- the Tink one is adorable!

I really wasn't sure that I was going to like Cirque either, but what those performers are able to do is really amazing. You'll have to let me know how you like the show in Vegas if you go!

I really hear nothing but good things about WPE, I just think we caught it on a bad night. I'll probably give it another try sometime.

Another great update! Glad you loved the Cirque show. I'm a real sucker for Cirque and will go see their show everytime they come DownUnder.

YAY for the D&B bag. I was eyeing that bag and decided NOT to make the purchase. I suspect that come October, I'll be re-dressing this mistake. :rolleyes1

And that Tinkerbell ornament is to die for. Great buys all round!

Cirque is pretty impressive isn't it? Some of what they are able to do is just mind blowing!

I've been thrilled with both of my D&B Disney bags, I don't regret spending the money on them for a minute!

I thought that Tink ornament was so cute, she's just so sassy!

Great update:cool1: Love your purchases, especially the hoodie and Tinkerbell ornament:cloud9: You never seem to be able to go wrong at EOS...it's so good....I love the tomato soup too:rolleyes1

I got the potato soup at EoS last time we went and thought it was really good, I'll have to try the tomato next time!

Love all the purchases you made, especially the D and B bag. That's the exact one i've been considering buying myself at the end of the month.

I also love the Tinkerbell and castle ornaments...they are beautiful and will look great on your disney tree.

Your review of Cirque has me wanting to see the show more than ever and hopefully will be able to one day.

Looking forward to more

They have so many cute designs on the D&B bags, it's hard to decide which one to get, which may be why I have two and am considering a third......

I'm excited to have a Disney exclusive tree, even if it is just a small one!

What night did you go to Cirque? We went on Tuesday night and absolutely loved it. We got a generous AP (or DVC) discount so our tickets were really affordable. I felt exactly the same way you did. The show was so worth the $. I think everyone should see it once.

I love your D&B bag. As I tell everyone, I am not a bag person, but that bag makes me want to be one!

We went to Cirque on Wednesday night, those plans were why I only had one margarita at the DIS meet, I didn't want to fall asleep during the show!

My DH wishes I weren't a bag person........

Those D&B bags are so cute, I love them, and the new colored sketch ones are super cute!

La Nouba is the only Cirque show I've been to, but it has me wanting to see more. Next time one comes through here I'm sure DH & I will go.

Isn't the Christmas store awesome?! Everytime we go Don tells me that we have no more room on our tree and I don't need to go in there, I go anyway and always come home with a few new ornaments :thumbsup2

Why in the world would you buy that grumpy mug for Don? ;)

Yep, the expense of La Nouba is exactly why we hadn't gone to see it before, that's a hard bill to swallow when you're paying so much for your vacation already. Luckily I only had to buy my ticket, of course I enjoyed it so much that I now want to take the whole family.....

It's baffling why I would buy that mug for Don isn't it???? :rolleyes1

:rolleyes1

It wasn't that WPE was bad, it just didn't live up to expectations and I was bummed that I missed out on my beloved EoS to eat there. Like I said before, I think we may have caught it on a bad night, most everyone seems to love it.

I've got quite a few Disney ornaments scattered around on my big tree, but I'm excited to have a little one that is exclusively Disney - I'm sure it will make me smile daily!

Cirque always sounds so amazing! Joe has ZERO interest. I would go see it in a heartbeat though! I do have a "girls trip" very loosely planned with a friend for the future...so perhaps then...

You know, saving it for a girls trip might be a great idea! I'm not sure how much Joe would enjoy it with his vision problems. Sitting close to the stage I think you would lose the overall feel for the show, and so much of it is in the air and the stage is kind of dark at times. Might be a waste of money for him.

You got some great souvies!!! Wow!! Another D&B bag. And yes, "summery" is a word in the bag world. And according to my spell check, it's a real word period! :thumbsup2 The sketch is very summery-and cute! I'm debating on the wristlet for myself...

I know, I can't believe I bought another D&B, but I just couldn't resist! I'm afraid if we do end up on the cruise next summer that the cruise design would have to come home with me too....... :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear WPE wasn't good! That is VERY surprising. It's usually completely delicious. Joe has gotten many pizzas from there and devoured each bite. Hopefully it was just an off night and they didn't change their recipe...

My pizza wasn't bad, it was actually pretty good, Mom's was the bad one. I maybe had my expectations a bit high too. I liked EoS better and was bummed to have missed out on it.

I would love to see them!

Whaddya think??

You're the second person that said the pasta was good - maybe I should have gotten that!

Oh gosh, Don would love it if I weren't a purse girl, unfortunately for him (and our pocketbook) I am  The sketch that I got definitely qualifies as a small purse, it holds about all I need to carry though.

Unsupervised Disney shopping is the best kind :yay:

Sounds like a great trip to St. Louis!!! I have always wanted to see the arch so I'm so glad you took so many pictures of it!!! :goodvibes

That cathedral was absolutely gorgeous! I really enjoyed all of your pictures of St. Louis including the stadium, zoo, & union station.

I took a lot more pictures of the arch, but I didn't figure everyone would want to see 30 pictures of the same thing

Shopping in DTD is always one of the highlights of my trips, I could easily spend a full day there, I think someday I'll work it into the plans where I do - I can leave the boys swimming at the resort and I'll go shopping - hmmmmm, I like that idea!

:goodvibes

I'll definitely give WPE another try, I think we just hit on a bad night and I missed EoS........

Oooooo, you'll be able to make a really cute Disney tree with yours - it's at least twice the size of mine. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

First off, St. Louis- OK is this St. Louis, Missouri or Oklahoma?! Because I believe the arch is in Missouri but your shirts said "Oklahoma Cardinals" and its also St. Louis Cardinals! hehe DH's best friend lives in Missouri and we have never been to visit and looking at your pictures made me want to visit there sooo very bad.. if that is Missouri!! hehe:rotfl:

Sorry Jen! I can see where it was confusing. We were in St. Louis Missouri for a baseball tournament with Jared's team, which coincidentally is also called the Cardinals, only we're the 'Oklahoma Cardinals' instead of the 'St. Louis Cardinals'. The team went to a St. Louis Cardinals game on our first full day as part of the tournament festivities. Hope that clears things up!

I was looking on disneystore.com to buy some world stuff because I'm having withdraws and I almost bought that zip-up hoodie and that tshirt! hehe

If you do decide to go to Cirque someday, don't spend the extra money for the 'best' seats - I think the category 2 seats were actually better!

We must have similar taste in Disney apparel! I try and stay off of disneystore.com - it's a dangerous place for me to be

I'm glad you enjoyed St. Louis. What a shame about the tournament not being well run. And too bad you didn't get to spend more time at the zoo--it's a really great one, and I love that its free. Glad you enjoyed Cirque so much!

I wish we would have had another day to go back to the zoo and I also wanted to go to Grant's Farm. Maybe we'll get back there someday! I'm sure if we do my kids will drag me to Six Flags again..........

I know, I know, I know ... I've left you gives in The Seas with Nemo & Friends for a really long time! Sorry about that! Strangely, my summer job seems to be taking up more of my time than my regular school year job! I'm kidding; my regular teaching job is way more work. Sounds like you've been really busy lately, I've missed reading about your trip - hope you can get another update up soon!

I would never ever attempt some of the things those Cirque performers do - I'm too chicken to learn something like that, I'd be afraid the whole time that I would die :lmao:

Almost every review I've ever read of WPE is good, I really think it was just an off night and maybe we ordered the wrong thing, I don't know. I'll probably try it again in the future, but only if I've had my fill of EoS first!

Your Mickey bag sounds cute, but you need to use it! There is no sense in having a bag that just sits in the closet :thumbsup2

Those look GREAT!!!! Are you going to make those for all the families? It looks really sharp with the team name on it!

Glad you enjoyed La Nouba. It's one of the things that I'd like to do but never seem to find the time or $$ for it when I am there.

Sorry about WPE. We had a great meal there last year. Did you go to the one on the west side near Cirque or the one in the Marketplace? We ate at west side and think it's better than the other one. Although, I will say, I'd never pick it over EoS.

I resisted buying a Dooney but I've seen about 4 in the last couple of days on the DIS and I might just head to Disney shopping to see what they have... I love that sketch one!

Thanks for the clarification! I guess if I wasn't soo busy and kept updated on everyones TRs..maybee I would know whats going on! hehe ;) Thats kind of cool that you guys share the same mascot! I remember when I left high school and went to college- I shared the same mascot.. and coincidently I was a cardinal! So when I went to college I said "I guess I'm meant to always be a cardinal" Which is ok with me- I think its one of the best mascots to be.. maybe its biased but who cares!

I will most likely purchase the category 2 seating because if we do get to go this next trip- my parents will be coming along.. and I most likely will be paying for it because idk if they will have the extra money to fork out for a show.. plus, idk if thats something they would want to spend extra money on. I would of course.. but we are very different.

I love the team picture with the red number accents.:thumbsup2

Thanks, I was really happy with how it turned out!

Those look GREAT!!!! Are you going to make those for all the families? It looks really sharp with the team name on it!

I did make copies for everyone, I had about 1000 pictures from the whole season so I made each parent a CD that included any photo that I had of their kid.

It is hard to make time (or spend the money on!) La Nouba, but if you're ever kicking around the idea of doing it just know that it's worth it :thumbsup2

We went to the WPE near Cirque, it wasn't awful, we were just disappointed in Mom's burnt pizza and I was missing EoS........

I love the Disney Dooney's! In fact there is another one that I have my eye on. I sent a link for it to Don since our anniversary is this month - maybe I'll get it ;)

Thanks for the clarification! I guess if I wasn't soo busy and kept updated on everyones TRs..maybee I would know whats going on! hehe ;) Thats kind of cool that you guys share the same mascot! Well, that made it easy, just staying a cardinal - no new t-shirts and stuff to buy! :thumbsup2

Cirque can get really pricey for 4 people, which is why we had never gone before, thankfully I only had to buy one ticket!

Hey Michele!
Sorry I went MIA, I'm here and catching up!! Hope you're well!!:goodvibes

Hey Kristen - it's good to see you! I've been MIA a bit myself this past week.......

***********************

Hey everyone - so sorry that I haven't updated in forever! I haven't even been on the DIS since Thursday afternoon :scared1: My mom's sister and her husband came into town for the weekend so we spent alot of time with them. Jared's end of season baseball party was yesterday so I had to take some time to sort through all of the pictures that I had taken throughout the season and make CDs for the parents - that took forever! Not to mention getting ready for school to start AND we are leaving Friday to take a quick trip up to Minnesota to see my aunt/godmother who has been diagnosted with stage 4 cancer. It's been a crazy week to say the least. BUT, I will get an update up today, it may be midnight, but it will get posted today

Thanks for hanging in there with me!
