Does anyone know if the TSA allows you to take flowers on board the plane.

I am leaving the day after the wedding and heading home for soem rest before our Honeymoon trip...

I don't want to leave my bouquet behind so I am wondering if they allow it on the plane?

Anyone travel back home with it?

While the overall answer is yes, be careful. If there are any pins in the bouquet, they must be removed. It will also have to go through the scanner and TSA (while I just adore my sister agency) aren't always the most graceful with items. Some will also count it as your carry on.

I had mine in my carry-on and it was fine, but be careful I also had our memorial candle in there so I was stopped for having a candle. They didn't do anything other than want to see it and then sent me on my way.

Later i thought they must have been so confused, in my bag I had our sand ceremony jar, my bouquet, and our candle.

We brought home my bouquet and a vase of a dozen roses. We just took the roses out of the vase, and put them in a WDW bag and wrapped the vase in a beach towel. No issues!

I was a BM in my cousins wedding a few years ago and i just stuck my bouquet right in the little beach tote type things she had given us. Neither my sister nor i had any problem with them.

I do not know about flowers and airlines, but there is a company in Orlando that will p;ick up your flowers from the resort and take really good care of them and make them into a beautiful keepsake. Its called Keepsake Floral. My flowers were well handled and well preserved. I love all the items i ordered from them.

Thank you so much for this info... I didn't know about KEEPSAKE FLORAL.
I love the idea!!!

the keepsake deal looks like an option, given them getting the flowers, but i don't think the style of things they have quite matches ours... we go on the cruise the next day, after the MK bridal shoot! i want a beaustiful bouquet but i dont want to pay to refresh something the next day that i don't think i can take on the cruise? and, though i am sure the keepsake prices are fine, its a bit spendy for something i really just don't want to chuck into the trash vs. actually save forever!

We actually got silk flowers. Disney did a beautiful job in making them look real. I was quite concerned about taking the real flowers through customs and I didn't want to lose my bouquet if they took it away.

I carried my bouquet, 3 flower wands, and a dozen long-stemmed roses home on the plane. I put them in a bin and ran them through the x-ray at security and the only comment I got was how pretty they were! There were some of the "hidden Mickey" pins in them as well as 3 metal and Swarovsky crystal snowflakes (this was December 2009), but nobody said anything about them.

I would caution you about two things: Disney wedding bouquets are HEAVY, so do bring a tote of some kind (preferably round) or you will be very sore the next day; also, the "stems" on the bouquet are not actually attached to the roses in the bouquet, so don't try to keep the ends in water -- sprinkle the bouquet from the top to keep it fresh. Mine made it home and lasted about a week.
