Iris

Named for the Greek goddess of the rainbow, the three leaves of the Iris represent faith, wisdom, and valor. In Japan, the vibrant blue color of the Iris is an expression of heroism. Throughout the world, the Iris has been a symbol of royalty and divine protection for centuries.

Are those Siberian Irises, Kim? I once planted some that looked like those in your picture, but only a few came up. They look so pretty, maybe I'll try them again.

I love the siberian irises - but can't seem to grow them very well here either. Oh but the ones I have I love to pieces.

oooooh Somehow I missed this thread too. Beautiful flowers. Now THIS is what I would rather look at than those snowy pictures.

I have bearded iris which do great. At the same time I got the bearded irises the same lady gave me another form of iris (I think Siberian) and I planted them someplace else in the yard. I think I've only gotten one flower once (this in like a six-seven year time span). I get beautiful green leaves and that's it. I had decided that I was going to move these nonblooming irises to a more sunny location this spring. (I hope I remember to do this 'cuz I think I was gonna do it last season too! LOL)
