Oh Gosh... I'm SO overwhelmed! Not only that, I'm "negging out", as my wife says...
We are 1st timers, AND going with our 3 kids for the 1st time on a vacation... ages 8, 6, 1 1/2. We are staying (split time) at the Grand Floridian, and the Yaught Club, from 3/23 - 3/30... YIKES! Prime Time!

What can we expect? My nightmare vision is an overcrowded theme park filled with rude folks, all in a pressure cooker to get spots on line, meal reservations, and stratgic beach real estate. Am I far off? I REALLY hope so! But, I'm afraid, I'm not.

I know how negative I sound... I can't help it! (crying!)...
We really are into the water park thang... are we going to be waiting hours on a line to go down a slide? Am I going to have to arm wrestle some bloke, because he took my beach spot? AAHHH! Please calm my nerves... Or, am I pretty accurate in my scenerio of Disney at Easter/Spring Break?

Is there a way, (strategies), to make this a really wonderful and positive experiance for my kids?

Help! Thank you for your time and expertise,

yes, spring break & easter is a very crowded time to visit wdw in our experience but you can still enjoy your trip! just dont go to magic kingdom on easter, although the parade is neat, the crowds are sworming, my family did this once years ago & never again. just use time management do your favorite rides & attractions when you first enter each park, buy or rent from the library the passporter walt disney world book, birnbaums 2005 walt disney world or another wdw travel companion book to give you a better idea of what each attraction is so you can have an idea of what these must see's are for you & your family. don't try to see every single attraction, pace yourself, there's always next time. definetly make ps's (priority seating) for table service/signature wdw restaurants in advance as there quite popular & because of the busy season. also with a family, plan on taking breaks back to the resort whether thats taking a nap or going to the pool there's nothing worse than tired, cranky, sick kids. give them a chance to rest.

the grand floridian & yacht club are both wonderfully nice resorts & have something for both you & wife as well as your children to enjoy onsite as well on those oh to crowded days. both resorts also have kids clubs or in room babysitting if you & your wife want a night/day alone.

at the grand floridian there is the 1900 park fare character meal & buffet, cinderella visits at dinner. there's also a number of fabulous restaurants & lounges like narcoossee's & victoria & alberts. there's boating, the grand floridian spa & healthclub, which is a tradition for us very relaxing they also have a couples massage which is very romantic, a pirate adventure cruise tourjust for kids where they hunt for buried treasure *for a fee, there's tennis, kids video arcade, the mouseketeer clubhouse playground, 2 pools & whirlpools, shops, etc. as well as the nearby mk resort entertainment like the polynesian & fort wilderness.

at the yacht club there's cape may cafe which has a character meal breakfast with goofy & friends, and a clam bake at night. there's also a handful of other good restaurants & lounges like the yachtsman steakhouse & beaches and cremes. there's the huge stormalong bay pool area, which is like a small waterpark in itself with a shipwreck slide, sand bottomed pool, whirlpools, quiet pools. there's the yacht club marina, tennis, ship shape health club & spa, video arcade, etc. as well as nearby fantasia gardens minigolf and of course the entertainment mecca of the boardwalk across crescent lake. the friendship boats are the best way to get to/from epcot & mgm from the yc lighthouse dock.

hope you & your family have a great wdw trip! hope this info helps.
