Floridays for Universal?

My family and I are going to Orlando to visit Universal. We have been looking into lodging and found the Floridays Resort. It has big rooms and would allow us to all stay together. The only problem is that it is located at 12562 International Drive... 10 miles south of Universal. They offer a free shuttle we were just concerned about the traffic going to the park in the mornings? Will it take us forever to get there??? And does anyone have recommendations about this resort?

I have a timeshare right next door at The Fountains (Bluegreen). From the outside Floridays looks good. I definitely wouldn't worry about traffic. It's probably 20 minutes up I-drive, maybe shorter if you take I-4.

I don't know anything about the shuttle, though. I'd expect 30 minutes regardless whether lots or little traffic. It might depend on how many other hotels the shuttle stops at.

If you're keen, the I-Trolley stops there, runs from 8am-10:30pm I think and goes to Universal. I've used it a couple of times, it takes about 40 minutes from Universal to Floridays. I wouldn't do it if I had a car, but its nice to know if you get drinking and don't want to drive, and you could save on parking too.

It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Orlando Premium outlets, too. Or about a 1-minute drive. There's a Publix grocery store across from there, too.
