Florida without a car

Emma - loads of people do Orlando without a car and have a fab time

I really recommed splitting your stay, though - part on I Drive and part onsite at WDW (very reasonable prices compared with DLP )

We always do this (change resorts) and even with 2 children it is no hassle to switch, honestly

I never bother with a car for my onsite WDW stay

I'm sure I could live without going offsite carolfoy - perhaps it would be a little more expensive but I'm quite used to Disneyland Paris prices!! And besides, there are so many options without having to venture too far out.

Karen advice about spliting the stay sounds idea

This year will be my fifth visit to Florida and I never hire a car, Im not confident enough to drive over there with just me and my daughter,I normally stay on site so I have never had any problems getting around within Disney because of their great transportation system and as for Universal, Seaworld, Discovery Cove,Shopping, and anything else I have wanted to visit, I have always used bus's or taxis.

I agree with Karen if you can split your stay that would be very useful and make things a little easier for you. Hope it all turns out well for you

I couldn't imagine going to Orlando and not hiring a car. I'm fortunate that I'm a confident driver and driving on holiday doesn't faze me. A split stay sounds just the job. At the end of the day it is all about having a fab time.

If you stay on I Drive the I Ride trolley is great and there are always taxis The Lynx buses are good too ...and you don't have to pay $10 to park each time you visit the parks

The I-ride does not take you to Disney or Universal. The only attractions that you can get to using the I-ride are SW and WW.

I am sure there must be, there is a busy junction on I-drive that joins with Sand Lake Road, the Florida Mall is about 5 miles or so down from there on Orange Blossom Trail, I would be surprised if there isn't a service of some-sort.

There is a Lynx bus that will take you from I-drive to the Fl Mall although I can't remember the bus number at this moment, but it does come by twice an hour.

Hi we are DVC members, and have been to WDW 6 times ( 7 in july )

We have never had a car. We just dont feel confident driving over there, especailly after a long flight.
Instead we make use of towncars, taxi's, buses, tours.

Weve never been short of things to do.

On of the best things (non disney) that we did was a night time safari on an airboat - gator spotting. the tour picked us up from our hotel.

It might work out slightly more expensive - but hey its our holiday

i totally agree.
In Oct 04 i used towncars/walking and i-tolley when staying out of disney/ universal between hotel, and then the bus on site.
I think it worked out cheaper than a car hire for 2 weeks( about 175) and was much easier than having to worry about driving and parking.
Only downside is you need to organsise your trip and time of colection.

The town car was great and prodived stress free travel! we used ***********

This summer we are using a combination of towncar, hotel shuttle, walking, i-trolley, Bush garden transfer, Bus tour(that picks up from the hotel) to kennedy space centre , Limo(to DCL!) and disney/universal transport(boat, bus, monrail).
