I actually AM a meteorologist (LOL) and who just retired and started putting together online weather info to help people plan their WDW vacations. You can find the online info at
https://balancedweather.com/wdw-weather/
I'd love any feedback that you or any others have, as I feel like there's a bit of a dearth of weather planning info for central Florida out there, and really want to help people with questions like these. I also started a newsletter and planning service that you can find the link to in my signature.
For a quick summary - late August into early September is typically still plenty hot and humid unfortunately, but you are starting to get toward the end of the rainy season and you have a little bit of hope of a front coming down and bringing a bit of drier air. That time of year is very close to the peak of hurricane season - so you have to keep an eye on that potential risk. Hope all this helps.
