Florida weather and Moonlight Magic in Sept. Give me the good the bad and the ugly

Is there any way to avoid this lol I HATE bugs.

Why did they choose Florida for this world, there is some extreme stuff going on here, we couldn't have put this in a different part of california Mr. Disney lol
That I am not too sure of. It's very obvious on windshields. I feel like people also complain at the pools?

What is the best weather time to go in Florida? We went in January thinking we'd escape the cold and it was freezing 🤣🤣
Fellow Californian here— I’ve been miserably cold (and dropped way too much money on Helly Hansen in the Norway pavilion) in late Nov- early Feb. We went just before Thanksgiving last year and were so cold (it was about 50 degree highs?).
Oct, Nov, Dec, Mar, and Apr. I think March and November have been our favorites temp-wise, so far.
Not sure where you are from but I would strike late Nov and Dec… I know that Aug and Sept are crazy, crazy hot. I would believe March/April and late Oct/early Nov are the sweet spots.

DL already covered California. Disney picked Florida for WDW because the weather was better than farther north along the Eastern seaboard, and at the time something like 95% of the US population lived there. PS at the time, I don’t think there were as many hurricanes disrupting Florida every year as there are now. There was a multi-year lull in hurricane activity.

We prefer November through early March for weather. May is hot, but “generally” not as humid as later in summer.

I just came back from WDW and the heat was a lot for me. Also it rained everyday we were there, each day starting around 4pm.

I have plane tickets booked that I have to cancel by tomorrow to not lose money. I have my room booked. I have my MM tickets secured for Sept 1 HS. I have an AP, which I probably wont renewer awhile so this is our chance to utilize it.

Our plan was to do pools during the day and visit the parks a couple hours each night and attend MM.

Do you think the heat August 30 through MM Sept 1 will be significantly worse than what I experienced over Memorial Day weekend? Or is it once you reach 90 it all feels the same type situation?

If you have been to a MM during this time of year did you get rained out? If so, what happened?

Lastly I know you all aren't meteorologists and even meteorologists cant predict the weather, just here for honest opinions if you think there is high potential for an absolutely miserable trip.
I actually AM a meteorologist (LOL) and who just retired and started putting together online weather info to help people plan their WDW vacations. You can find the online info at https://balancedweather.com/wdw-weather/

I'd love any feedback that you or any others have, as I feel like there's a bit of a dearth of weather planning info for central Florida out there, and really want to help people with questions like these. I also started a newsletter and planning service that you can find the link to in my signature.

For a quick summary - late August into early September is typically still plenty hot and humid unfortunately, but you are starting to get toward the end of the rainy season and you have a little bit of hope of a front coming down and bringing a bit of drier air. That time of year is very close to the peak of hurricane season - so you have to keep an eye on that potential risk. Hope all this helps.

I found your site in another thread and I really like it! Simple terminology I can understand and I was shocked at how much it rains in FL
