Florida Towncar Service

Has anyone had problems with Florida Towncar Service? (www.floridatowncar.com). I used them on our trip in December and thought they were great. Friends of ours have used them a number of times without issue. I have sent a number of emails to them requesting a change to our reservation for an upcoming trip, and have not received a response. Their Web site is still up, but no luck with contacting anyone. I wonder if they are still in business?

WOW! I just made a phone call to Florida Towncar service because I am concered that they were not responding to my emails. I felt like I was just chewed up and spit out by the owner. I needed to change our hotel destination and requested a new confirmation be emailed to me. I didn't think that was too much to ask for The person went on and on about how he built the company by himself for the last 16 years and said he is sick and tired of using email and he is going to pull the plug on it. I swear! This was the owner treating me as a paying customer like I am dirt! Also said he returned my emails and left me a voice message... NOT! He said "you don't need a confirmation via email, my word is good as gold"! How many times have you heard that from someone? He did give me a new confirmation number, but after speaking with him and listening to the harsh language (profanity and all) and tone of voice, I am seriously considering cancelling my reservation with them. All I wanted was a email confirmation. What would you do?

Just an FYI this company does not have an affiliation with the DIS. The official transportation of the DIS is FL Tours

I uswed to use them--stopped about four or five years ago because their service wasn't so hot, their drivers were maniacs, I started using Tiffany and was happy. THen Tiffany started having some customer service issues--the drivers were always fine, but the office people were not as service oriented as they could ahve been. So I switched to Yourride.net. I used them once for a four leg trip and was very happy with them.

Should I ever need a car/limo service again I won't hesitate to call them.

We used Florida Town Car 5 or 6 years ago and it wasn't a good experience. We were picked-up at the airport timely, but the car was dirty. We paid for the R/T in advance and tipped well. For the trip back to MCO, we were in front of the GF before they were suppose to come by. They didn't show-up. After several calls to them, with promises that they were on the way, the GF people took us to MCO(no charge) and we barely made our flight.

After we got home, I phoned FTC and talked to the owner, a guy named J.R. or J.C... He promised me a refund for 1/2 of the fee paid. After several weeks and many promises for the refund, I wrote a letter to the travel guide book people that suggested using FTC with a cc to J.R.or J.C.. I received a check from J. R.(C) for the whole amount of the fee paid to FTC. The check was poorly written and dated one year ahead. We have not used FTC since and now have used Tiffany TC with success.

I have never had a problem with FL. Towne Car or J.C. They have treated me quite well.
