Florida Tours-bad experience

Agreed, there are 2 sides to every story and Im glad FL tours took the time to explain their position on this matter.

Awwww - the ol "Here is what happened".... Please remember when reading these posts that when bad review of FL Tours is given that Andy appears to come back with "What really happened" and maybe sometimes it just is not so!

I think 8 hours is a long time to wait and call someone. I normally contact car services as soon as I know I am going to be delayed and contact them again when I know what is going on. (And I use car services in Europe where it costs me a lot to call them!)

Unless you have direct flight they may not know you were delayed and had someone hanging around waiting on you. (As Andy appears to have done)

He never says " What really happened". He state what happened from his perspective.
There are always two sides (if not three) to every story. I believe he should state his side as well as I believe you should state your side. When both sides are presented then people can base their decision to use or not use the service on the facts presented.

BTW, what was the point of digging up this very old thread?

I went back and was looking for similiar circumstances based on my situation. It infuriated me to see the "what happened" tag again after the OP posted to the list. I don't think that just because Andy (or anyone) comes back and says "what really happened" it should be taken as gospel truth. And I understand what you are saying about both sides of a story. Your right, both sides should be presented. What upsets me though is because my situation happened to me, I know the facts in my OWN situation - regardless of whether someone else may view them as subjective or not.
My feelings of anger are based on it appearing from Andy that somehow it was not entirely his mistake (example: we did not tell him all info, somehow made some quick changes) and that he acted very generously (by paying for a taxi for us even though he had been paid already for the same service).
And yes mistakes do happen. It is just I expect more then I'm sorry and then a vague "I am good guy in all of this". I epect to be compensated, for paying for a van that I never got, for the stress - and for the simple fact that he told me on the phone he would give me my money back.
I tried to post to these boards to make a comment - then got upset because Andy decided to then post on my original thread "what happened" as if it was truth. It's not.
I got upset and this is my only recourse. To tell others on this board, as I chose FL Tours because of the urgings of the board itself to use the sponsor and the good reviews from others. I look back and see that anytime someone has something negative to say about FL Tours though, they are negated some way, shape or form. There is a problem though.

If you read these boards you will discover that there is not ONE towncar agency that has received 100% positive feedback. I have read bad reviews of all of them. Just like with airlines, Disney and rental cars -anyone can have a bad day.

If you are looking for perfection.... have you attained it yet?

I've used just two companies at this point...Tiffany and FL Tours. Both have been outstanding. Our flight on Thanksgiving Day was delayed about 40 minutes...we left Boston on time but a nasty headwind messed up the flight. Then our baggage took about 40 minutes to show up. I have to say that our driver (wish I could recall his name) maintained a sense of humor throughout. I'm sure he had dinner to get to but didn't take it out on us.

I also had good service with Tiffany the three times I used them. Others on the boards have had some bad experiences with them but I found them to be terrific. So, I would guess that no matter what company you use, you run the risk of having a bad experience. Guess I've been lucky. 5 good drivers. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead!!!

I have used three of the town car companies mentioned here often on the disboards and had good, great and then unfortunately bad experiences with two of the three.

One company made things right and the other company did not respond. Water under the bridge and compared to mears they all were much better. I will use the one TC company who responded again and ignore the other. FWIW neither was Fl Tours as I have not used FL Tours yet but plan to in the future. I posted once about each experience, postive and negative and gave kudos to the company who did respond to my issues in the same way I complained.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, IMHO it was not such a make or break deal. You were picked up on time at mco and at your resort although you didn't get the vehicle requested. The owner offered both an apology and some compensation, you seem to have acccepted neither, your choice.

I think that for the other party to speak up and offer the other side of the story is fair and I do think it was fair for him to respond in your thread. You don't have to agree and others are free to take in both sides of the story.

To bring up an old negative post that has nothing to do with your situation does nothing to bring credibility to your argument.

I am very sympathetic to your issues with Florida Tours. As to who to believe...I don't judge companies or people based on the internet. I may look for guidance, but realize from personal experience, that w/o face to face interaction, it really is hard to get the true intentions of anything written in forums......

However, I do agree with TJ. Bringing up a thread that is old just to solidfy your opinion seems a little mean spirited.

Was your flight cancelled or were you bumped? If it was cancelled Andy would have known, but it sounds like you got bumped. If you had a friend waiting for you, you would have called. I know it stinks to have gone through the long delay in the first place but I can understand why Andy was upset when you finally did get a chance to call.

Andy,
The common thread between the negative posts that have been around lately is that the person whom they spoke to was rude. The posters might have been in the wrong or not. Your service has always been an exemplary mainly because of your great attitude. The DIS has over 70,000 members. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

As an update, I called Tiffany and told them our story and they have arranged transportation for us both ways! They will get my business from now on!

Im glad it worked out better for you!! We used Tiffany on our last trip and they were FABULOUS!!! Awesome drivers, hold your name out like a Limo Driver, helped us with our luggage to and from the town car, drove incredibly safe and talked to us with respect- cant go wrong with them! We also had a situaiton where we needed a ride to Sea World from the former Dixie Landings and back, well my hubbys Dad showed up to Sea World because he was on a business trip in FL at the same time, so he could give us a ride back to Dixie. Tiffany refunded us the ride back we didnt need- VERY cool!
Good luck!

Ummmm - sure it does. The post was from August and it shows a common thread that I personally wanted to comment on.
Do you only comment on threads from the last 24 hours (or some other timeline?) I wanted to comment on the situation just as you are commenting on mine.
