Vicki - 16 - (Thinks she's 26) - Emo,Thrill Ride Seeker and Mums Best Friend.
Had a little lay in until about 8.30 today and it was lovely, we have decided to go back to Epcot this morning to try out the food and wine. Buy a couple of postcards first to send to some dissers children, write them out and then head over to Epcot on foot. Still feels great when I think how easy it was to get to Epcot. First things first though I must go to Japan to the big store to see if I can get Karens lucky cat. Well Im not kidding you this place is like the Tardis from Dr Who. Looks an average size from outside but oh my goodness its quite large inside. Anyway I follow Karens directions and find the little table that they are sat on, and yes we have a result, but to my dismay they all have black marks where people have either been picking them up or they have been rubbing against the little black ones. I was going to ask if they had any more, but the queue was really long, so thought we would leave it for another day.
We then started our tour around the world, first thing first a nice larger for me and a fanta for Vic as we wondered, we stopped at a few of the food and wine places on route to sample what they had, however dont ask me what I tried as I cant remember the names of most of them, although I do know that we enjoyed the Kafta (I think that was what it was called) from Morrocco which was the best in our opinion. Now I cant believe it but it has taken us almost 3 hours to get around and after 2 lagers and 3 different wines, im beginning to think a lay on the bed for a nap might be in order.
"Not on your life" says Vicki and she pulls me over to Future World to ride Spaceship Earth and we try to get to see Turtle Talk with Crush, just as we get there the group is going in, so we tag on the end hoping for the best and in we go, great stuff. This is so funny, its brilliant and Im so gald we have the oppertunity to catch it this time again.
After this we make our way back to the Dolphin as we need to change as we are meeting Kaylee, Alan and Joseph at the Boardwalk for dinner at ESPN. We meet them at the boatdock around 5.30-6.00 and queue up to get into the ESPN, now this is where the fun starts, as we enter they ask us how many, we tell them 4 and a baby, they ask us if we would like a booth or a table on the main floor, so we say a booth would be nice please, the lady on the door says fine, "pop around that way", pointing the way to go and if there are no empty booths come back. This we do and unfortunatly there are no empty booths, so back we go to the front. Now at this stage because you cant book ADR's for ESPN, quite a long queue has built up outside, we go back to find the lady who had now been replaced with a different guy, we tell him we can not find an empty booth so he asks for our name, we tell him and then he says to us, well can you please join the back of the queue and queue up again. WHAT!!!!! We are astounded, we are not at all happy "Excuse me", I start off, "hang on a min, we have queued once", I say, to no avail, yes he understood that, but now because there was no booths we had to go and queue again, Alan then has a try saying the logistics of taking a baby who is hungry to stand at the back of a long queue, which we have already queued in once to queue again is not good. We were I have to say plesant at all times (even though we were starving and irratated by now) and I think the look on mine and Alans face promted the poor bloke into getting us a table on the main floor straight away, can I just say here at this point, the floor was almost empty so I have no idea why he was insistent on making us queue up again, had it been full, well, I may have understood... not happy, but understod, anyway I digress as normal, the food was mediocre in my opinion, service wasnt that great, main course was delivered much too soon after the starters as we hadnt finished, but had to let them go as there was no room on the table for all of it, and I dont think any of us finished the meal. Great atmosphere in there though and Vicki loved the themeing, and a big big thank you to Alan and Kaylee who treated us to the meal for looking after Joseph on one of the following nights so they could go out and celebrate their anniversary with a lovely romantic dinner.
Anyway as it was Halloween we then made our way to the lawn in front of the Boardwalk where they had loads of activitys going on. Loads of people were dressed up and the disco was in full swing, so time to get down and boogie woogie woogie for an hour or 2 which was brilliant. On one table they were letting everybody decorate little cookie biscuits for Halloween and of course we all had a go. Here is mine and Vickis:
Mine looks as though it was made by a 2 year old, in fact a 2 year old could have done better but the icing tasted so good, I wanted as much as I could
Now this is Vickis, a much better and more artistic attempt, and even resembles something about halloween.
We start to walk across the Boardwalk to find a bench to have a good view of Illuminations at Epcot and run into no other than Deb, Matt, Tam, Kev, India, Georgia, and Susan, who are all dressed wonderfully for Halloween, now I do have a photo, but as Kev is in the middle of doing his trip reports, its only fair to let him post a photo first as they are all dressed up and look fantastic.
We stop en route to watch the street magican who I have to say was very very funny.
We find our bench, grab a couple of drinks from the little bar and enjoy Illuminations, we have a brilliant view and it looks fantastic, what better way to round off a great day
I must point out that the beer and the Sminoff Ice was NOT Josephs
Day 6: A day in bed Poorly for me, Vicki Goes to Universal.
