Can anyone give their experience regarding what proof they utilized relating to both a florida resident ticket ( likely the current Fla resident Discovery ticket offer) for a family member. Here's the scenario. I am a new a Seasonal Florida Resident ((Yeah), my college aged ds lives with us both here and at our other location ( out of state). He is obviously not listed on any utility bill or anything related to the home. His drivers license ( as is mine) is out of state, no accts here ( banking etc) tho there is a branch here, now that I think of it.
I want to take advantage of the Florida Discover Ticket and a fla Room discount ( we ll be sharing a room, ) the question is, HOW, for the ds?
I tried the online chat on disney site, they said busy... I emailed them 2 days ago thou the link, and asked for help...no response yet.
I read somewhere here on Dis that someone got a note notarized as a parent indicating their child/ student lived with them .

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this? I re -read the Florida seasonal resident info and no help there,
TIA!!

I'm pretty sure he'd need either a FL state ID (not necessarily a license) or an ID from a college here in FL.

No resident needs a state ID here, I can just show my utility bill n out of state license...but as he's not the homeowner, he isn't on the utility bill, or insurance bill, there's no mtg, but if there was one, Kwim? As a resident of my household he is entitled to same benefit/s but I have to figure out how...maybe I can have our bank branch send a bank statement to our seasonal address within the 2 mos timeframe needed?
My niece attends university down here, and yes she gets resident status as well. Thx for ur thoughts...I'm hoping someone has a kid/ student that faced this before or a CM ( fingers crossed lol) replies here..

You cannot hold a DL in another state and get a Florida ID (non-DL) card. It is not permitted. I asked for when we moved to Virginia. The practice was stopped but don't recall when. I do know it was prior to 2010 and vaguely recall it may be due to the Patriot Act, but I am not certain.

OP--here are some options:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/florida-residents/validation-requirements/

Options that may work would be:
Mail from a financial institution such as statements from a checking, savings, or investment account

OR

Mail from a city, county, state or federal agency.

Does he get ANYTHING of those pieces at your Florida home? Is it possible to do a change of address for any of those entities to send his mail to Florida in time for your trip?

I know for a DL--you would need the utility or whatever and so when we moved I reminded my husband to add my name to something and then I used that and our lease (DMV requires two items.)

So another thing would maybe be to add his name to a utility if the utility will let you.

But since he is an adult, he will be required to show something. When we picked up our tickets, they needed something for all adults for the 6 tickets we picked up for us and our 4 children.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Lisa Loves Pooh. I think I'm going to take him to a local branch here in fla where he has an acct n see if they can give us a statement here at this address and get it " timed" right. I don't want to add him to utilities or anything like that ,,,city, county I'm gonna look around at that option. He's clearly not on the tax bills ( tho I'd allow him to pay n add his name lol, not really!). Come on CM's.....I know there Has to be others in this situation before. And I hope Disney responds.....

(There's actually a link on the disney site for ...Seasonal Florida Resident.. But it does not help me) perhaps it will help others tho..

Ah ok. My parents are snowbirds and got their ID prior to 2010.

My youngest has a FL ID too, but he's too young to drive. He got his in the last year or two.

I just looked it up and it does say that has of Jan 1, 2010, they had stricter requirements and I do kind of sort of recall that it was newer. But the website doesn't actually talk about dual identification.

I was rather bummed when they told me no.

We had a similar situation, moved to FL 2 yrs ago but daughter is in college out of state with out of state DL. For her FL annual pass she was able to show her out of state DL with a current bank acct statement that has our FL address on it and that was fine. Hope that helps!

An in-Florida College Student ID is specifically denied as valid by Disney.

Here is the list of acceptable id for the Fla Res tiks. Each adult in your group will have to provide id. Believe me they have seen everything and take it very seriously.

In order to take advantage of the Florida Resident Offers at Walt Disney World you must show proof of Florida Residency:

For full-time Florida residents:
VALID Florida Driver's License

VALID Florida State issued ID card (MUST have Florida address)

VALID Florida Based Military ID from one of Florida's Military Bases
Pensacola Naval Air Station
Hurlburt Field Air Force Base
Eglin Air Force Base

Jacksonville Naval Air Station
Mayport Naval Station
MacDill Air Force Base
Patrick Air Force Base
Miami Coast Guard Station
Clearwater Coast Guard Air Station
Homestead Air Reserve Base
Key West Naval Air Station
United States Southern Command (Miami)

As of August 2010, Voter registration cards and Florida College/University ID's are no longer acceptible proof of full-time residency.

The persons who will use the Florida Resident adult tickets must be present at the time of ticket pick up. If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each adult ticket purchased you must provide one of the following dated within the last two months and evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):
•Monthly mortgage statement

•Florida vehicle registration or title

•Homeowner's insurance policy or bill

•Automobile insurance policy or bill

•Utility bill

•Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings, or investment account statement

Bills can be no more than two (2) months old. PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency. Current bills printed from electronic versions are acceptable, though photocopies and fax copies are not.
