I went to the one on the OBT Osceola county I do believe.

While I was waiting... and let's face it I had a LONG time to talk to people. I found out they appear to be consolidating all to the tax collectors office.

I have no information on the registration as our car died about a week after we got here and we bought a new one. The dealer did the registration and issued plates right there! Car registration was also VERY expensive in Maine (every year too not just the first time). I doubt it would have popped up on my radar as a LOT of money.

Our bank is out of state and both the DMV and Disney accepted it. We use a credit union in Maine and no way would I switch. It is a bit of a pain occasionally but for the most part it is just fine.

Wow - that's a bummer about the appointments. Do one renewal by mail, and they change the whole system on you! I guess that means getting there at least a half hour before they open to get a good spot in line. It's not so busy out where I am, but when I used to renew in Orange County, those places were busy, and as a pp mentioned, they are closing or consolidating a lot of the offices, at least in Orange County (I saw it on the news last week), which makes the others busier.

It really is worth taking care of right away though, for more reasons than just the AP.

I just got mine like a month ago.... been here since July. Really it has never been an issue but I heard that they were doing road blocks to check license and registration both matching the same state and mailing address... I thought it best to go.

FWIW. - they are not currently taking appointments for regular drivers licenses right now.

I was there for about 5 hours and got there at 8:00. They are ****ting a bunch of them down.

If you are a married woman you will need:

Original birth certificate (with seal)
Marriage certificate
SSN or a W2
Copy of your lease
Mail from a financial institution or utility bill.

I changed our bank statement before leaving as we only get them via email anyway. That way I had a bank statement available to show for my license and to get my AP.

Also, just a heads up. If you have been divorced, and changed your name via the divorce or remarriage, bring those docs as well. Got nailed when renewing my DL (that I've had for 20+ years) with the name that I've had since 1999.

I had to send off for a copy of my first marriage certificate and divorce decree.
