florida rate problem

Thanks for the responses... I haven't heard from anyone at CRO again but I will call them to verify they will honor our reservations...actually, my aunt and uncle's name is the primary name on 2 of the ressies, I just had to use my address for billing purposes- so it has their names but with my address.. I believe this would be a similar situation to Mickey Fliers.. the name on our reservations will match the name on the FL drivers license, so hopefully we won't have any problems.

Thanks!
OK I am confused :confused3 They (your aunt & uncle) are primary on only 2 of the rooms correct? If that is the case, then Disney will honor it for 2 rooms & not the other 3. If you booked rooms with a Fl resident rate & there is no link at all to a FL resident (primary name, person paying etc.) Disney more than likely not allow you to check in with that rate. The case with Mickey Fliers, only the address was different, the name on the DL & Credit card were the same I believe & they really are FL residents since her DH is active in the milatary. Please don't take me the wrong way, I am not saying that you don't deserve it, your aunt & uncle are residents & will be with you, however, they are the ones that should have done the booking (or at least you doing it with all of their info)...

Forgot to ask, what come up when you go into the Disney's "My Disney Vacation" site? What is the first name listed on the ressie (all 5 rooms for each trip). Like mine has me first then DH etc....

One of the room ressies has my name first, then my aunt are uncle are each first on another room, then 2 other family members on the remaining 2 rooms.. when I bring up my ressie online, only the rooms reserved under my Username/ID come up... I have to bring the other ones up by the reservation number.

They may not honor the ones in your name & the other 2 family members since you are not Fl residents. The ones with your aunt & uncles's name should be no problem as long as they are there to check in with ID. The other 3 rooms without a resident as the primary (checking in with ID), Disney has the right to charge you full price. That might be why the CM was trying to get you to rebook.. I don't think they were trying to take the glitch rate away. Had you done 2 in your aunts & 3 in your uncle's you would have been safe....

Since they are allowed 3 rooms each and they are checking in with us, wouldn't our rooms be covered also - our ressies are linked together... or do their names actually have to be on all the rooms? Since they cannot stay in more than one room, do they actually have to have their name on all the rooms?

I've never had an AP but wouldn't this be similar to booking an AP rate? When you book an AP rate for more than one room, does that AP holder have to have their name on all the rooms? For example, if the AP holder booked a room and then a friend or relative booked another room seperately, can you just check in together and the AP holder can show their ID so their relative can get the discount also??

If that's not the case, do you think we can change the guest names on our ressies without it affecting our rate? I know I've read that we cannot change dates or resorts without affecting the rate, but I wonder if changing names would be allowed??

Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I thought the resident's name had to be on it to get it, then during check in, they change the names around. The same goes for the AP rate.... there is a post about the FL resident glitch rate and how Disney is calling all that booked it without a FL address to cancel them...so they do look at the address of the person that is booking...

Thanks.[/QUOTE]

I believe when you book an AP room rate it has to be in the AP holder's name. I can't just say "give my sister the room discount too, she's with me". Her room would have to be booked by me. She'd have to pay me for the room and I would pay WDW.

Another question/comment. My parent's are FL residents 6 months out the year and have FL address/property and FL DLs. They have FL passes but sometimes when they book, they use their TN address to receive their confirmation because at that time they may still be here. It has never been a problem for them.

If your parents have the FL SP then Disney knows that they have a FL address (it is in their system). When I call Disney, they know my name, address, phone number, my childrens names & birthdates as well as any friends that have come with us (linked to my name). So if your parents have the confirmation sent to the out of state address & never had a problem, that is because Disney already has the FL address. Does that make sense to you? Some that have no SP (or AP) that aren't residents, Disney will not have a FL address on them. Unless they can come up with one & proof they live there, they will not get a resident rate.

they always check ID when I have a fla resident rate since the reservation is in my name..
