I am curious to see if anyone has had any issues with buying tickets at MWR at the FL resident rate and having any issues at the ticket window with just presenting a military ID and not a FL ID. I know that on the website it states to get the FL resident rate you must present a FL based military ID, those do not exist, a military ID is a military ID. A few years back I was stationed in Pensacola for a while and we purchased FL resident annual pass vouchers and had no issue redeeming the vouchers, I just was wondering if anyone recently has had any issues.

At a ticket window I would accept a military ID and anything else which will show an address in Florida.

I would imagine this could be accomplished one of two ways:

  • By showing both a Military ID and a Florida Driver's License at any WDW ticket booth (or at Shades of Green, if you want to save on the sales tax, as I believe WDW ticket windows are required to collect sales tax from everyone).
  • Or, by purchasing the AP at any MWR/USAF FSS facility on one of the bases in Florida (you may have to provide some sort of proof you are stationed, there -- especially if you carry a driver's license from another state).

Could you show a set of military orders? Those would prove you are stationed in FL.

How would showing only a military id prove Florida residency? A military id card doesn't show your address.
I understand that, but on the website it states a Florida Based military ID can be used to prove residency. I've always been a little lost on this whole concept and have even asked a CM before and could never get a good answer.

Basically, if you are military and stationed in FL you are not a FL resident but Disney will let you buy resident passes as long as you can prove you are military and you do live in FL. I doubt the people who write the rules on the website know what is and is not on a military ID.
