staying at WDW without a car which is the best way to get to the Florida Mall

You can get the Lynx bus no.50(?) from ttc and Downtown, it takes you right there, about 45mins. It only costs $2 per person, really straightforward.

Its the Lynx bus 111 from dtd they run every half hour its the one that says Airport, it will take 45 mins to the Florida Mall, we have used a few times.

Chris

Thanks everyone for the help ,

The bus is great, my friends and I used it numerous times to get to the Florida Mall, would thoroughly recommend it!

Debbyt28 when we were headed to mall at Millenia we generally go the bus to the Florida Mall then got a taxi over, they are far closer together than I thought (maybe 10 mins using the local roads rather than the I4) or we just payed for a taxi straight there, I don't remember there being an easier way but that was a few years ago now.

You can lynx it but its a right phaff! You would need to get 50 to seaworld change to lynx 8 to Premium outlets I'drive than catch another bus 24 to Mall of Millenia (its only about 10mins from there).. and which by the way doesn't run very late for the return journey...do as PP said either get the 111 and then a taxi or just taxi it all the way..:)

you are right to stick a ? next to the 50 its a 111 now. It only takes about 30 mins. It used to be a pain in the back side to do before the 111 but luckily they realised there was a need and put this bus on. We catch it from outside DTD next to the Hilton Hotel. Very handy:thumbsup2

Can I hijack this and ask route for millennium mall

Bookmark this site; http://www.golynx.com/?fuse=cstm&app=route It's the Lynx website, and besides having all the routes on it (good printable versions, always handy to have those departure times handy) they have a pretty good planning tool on it also.

As departure point you can insert both WDW and TTC and it will understand enough to come up with the officially used address. As destination simply add the address of whatever mall, store, whatever you want to visit. Again it tends to be smart enough to suggest convertion to address that the system works with. Next it will give you a detailed plan including a map using google maps. Even plans out how long a walk takes when needing to make a transfer or if the busstop isn't IN the mall for instance. ;)

Those wanting to visit around the Idrive area, the outlet malls etc. might also want to look into the I-trolley. Also a very good cheap system. You can easily grab Lynx 111 to the stop where you can hop onto the I-trolley at the convention center. With the I-trolley you can basically hop on and off at both of the big outlets and many other locations. More even than Lynx.

Website of Lynx is easily to follow, has almost any and all info wanted and is updated frequently (read; no surprises when a route changes!!!). When unsure what to do, where to get on or off or whatever; ask the driver. Apart from the very very very few rotten apples most drivers are not only very knowledgable but very willing to help out and I've seen quite a few keep track of where the "tourists" need to get off, stop at said busstop even if nobody requested a stop and nicely inform those that need to get of this is their destination or transfer point. Seen many drivers go above and beyond helping any customer that might look like they are a bit lost.

DH and I never get a car and we take a taxi to both the florida mall and the outlet one on vineland.

I have looked into the buses but I just prefer the taxi. We get it from DTD as its cheaper to get it from there and then back to DTD. Unless the weather is bad in which case its right back to the resort.

It's the 111, not the 50.

Millennia is a pain on the buses from Disney, but you can do it. We usually go to Universal for the morning then get the bus from there (40). We then take the 24 back to I-Drive. No problems from there but Disney adds a lot to the journey.

You can also get the 50 to seaworld and change.

I Would stick with the Lynx rather than the i ride - lynx you pay $2 ask for a transfer ticket and you can transfer buses within a 90 min period,

I -Ride is $1.25 but if you get off you have to pay again, plus iride stops all stops so can take alot longer

You can buy a weekly bus pass from the lynx website they will post it to the uk $16 worth it if going to make a few trips.

I like to save as much money as possible getting there as it makes the shopping even better value;) But it we have bought loads then maybe, just maybe we'll go for a taxi! It hurts me paying a cab fare plus tip both ways when I can do it for $4! The lynx 111 is just so quick and easy to the Florida Mall and the lynx 50 with a transfer to 42 or 8 is relatively quick. :)

This is what we did, but got a taxi back which we wish we hadnt as it cost a bomb but at the time shopping bags and a bus seemed like a bad idea lol.

You must have got the lynx 111 because the 50 def does not get you direct to any of the malls or outlets.
