In my mailbox today were pin codes for free dining for 10 people who don't live at my address. I know all of these people. They're friends of mine, cousins or other family members. The only thing these ten people have in common with me and my address is I've made all of them reservations with points at a DVC resort in the last decade. I had to provide DVC with their actual addresses and phone numbers when I booked the rooms.

These are the people who are going to have online reservations shortly?

We got one for a guest we took with us on DVC trip. Except, she's decided she wants to become a member and not have to hope for a PIN code to get an economical trip. (Of course, using the PIN code is OK with her too;))

That is what kills me about the pin codes when I wasn't a DVC member I never got them. Now that I am and can't use them I get them.

My 10 year old got the "Free Dining" pin code yesterday in the mail. The last name was spelled incorrectly but the correct address. He thought we should use it. :rotfl2: No such luck.

Oh wow, so it's not just me! :rotfl:

Last year we got a PIN code with a friend's name on it. This week we got two, one with the friend's name again, one with my maiden name. I only took one trip with my maiden name, and it wasn't a DVC trip, so that can't be why in my case :confused3

You should sign him up for a Disney Visa card and let him take you on vacation.

My 12 yo dd got this is the mail too. Her last name was spelled wrong too. My dh wanted to throw it away. I was lookng at it and I smiled thanking God that we have DVC. We would never been able to afford it. A studio, park tickts and dining woud have cost us $3000 over Easter. We never spend that much.

Damn I can't get a pin code if my life depended on it. And no one I ever made reservations for has gotten them either. The only person I know who has gotten one is my son who is 7. I could really use one right now since I gots no mo points and am jonesing for the mouse.

I've never gotten a pin code. If it weren't for the DIS I wouldn't even know what it is.

I haven't goten pin codes but have twice gotten a "congratulations on your upcoming trip at xxxxxresort" email for someone who had previously been on trips with us. It really makes you wonder about their system.

I got them for my 6 year old nephew and his grandpa. I thought it might have been from cruising together, but I guess it could have been DVC too. The prices gave me sticker shock though. I go with my DVC.

I also received a flood of postcards with codes. Not one of the cards had my name or my husband's name on them, they did have guests that we have traveled with in years past.

We got 3 cards yesterday too - very odd! My daughter's first name is Mary, and one of them said "the Mary family", another was addressed to my stepmom who stayed with us at SSR 2 yrs ago. Weird stuff, though the cards were cute with Remy on them!
