Floats at Castaway Cay

I have read several complaints about having to rent floats and tubes at CC. Will DCL let you use your own float if you bring it on board uninflated?

Not a problem whatsoever, and a very fine idea indeed..

The floats were the cheapest part of our trip, so while you may be okay in bringing your own along, for $6 I personally don't think I'd dedicate space in my luggage for that. But then again, I over pack and need all the room I can get!

I agree with above poster...I have enough to pack...I would not pack my own float....but that is me....all I can think of is the precious relaxing time I would need to spend in inflating it manually!!!

Here is a link to a pic of what the tubes, floats look like...we only rent one or two for the family and share...you never all in the water using them at the same time.

We ALWAYS rent the complete float, bike and snorkle package....I think it's 26 dollars per person. We ended up giving 2 bike rentals to the family next to us and snorkled most on the time. Also if you are one of the lucky sailings with 2 stops at CC you only pay once.....

Last time we were there we sorta bummed around until after lunch, and the CM at Serenity Bay just gave DW one for snorkeling/floating/general laziness.

DH & I are pretty frugal/tight with spending money...even on a cruise...and that is one thing we have always rented. The kids have a ball with it and I really don't want to have to lug it back to the ship. I also don't want to have to pack a damp & sandy float in our luggage.

I just bought a set that had a tube, float, and beach ball for $2.47 at Wal-Mart. This is for my 9 year old neice. I figure at that price, we can use them at CC and then throw them away at the end of the day.

Yes ohMom, if you book early 60 days out when the excursions are available it's a "buy on get one free!!!" I learned about it from these boards....it WAS NOT available after boarding the ship....
