Floaties?

From the DCL website:

Policies About Pool Toys and Swim Accessories
Please be aware of the following policies about pool toys and swim accessories:
  • Swim goggles that fit only over the eyes are permitted at all pools, hot tubs and water slides, with the exception of AquaDunk aboard the Disney Magic, where goggles are not allowed.
  • Swim masks that cover the eyes and nose are permitted at all pools. They are not allowed on any slides, including AquaDuck.
  • Snorkel tubes are not permitted at any pools, hot tubs or water slides.
  • Coast Guard personal flotation devices (PFDs), water wings and flotation sewn into bathing suits can be brought onboard and are permitted in Mickey's Pool.
  • Floats, rafts and fun noodles cannot be brought onboard and are not permitted in the pools.

Do we take our own floaties and floaty rings for the pool?
From the DCL website:

The following items are permitted but with the following restrictions:
  • Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices (PFDs) and flotation sewn into the bathing suit for safety. However, recreational floating devices such as floats, rafts and fun noodles cannot be brought on board and are not permitted in the pools or on Castaway Cay.

Bit kids arm floaties are ok?
No, only "Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices (PFDs) and flotation sewn into the bathing suit for safety."

Actually those little arm floaties are really not all that safe. Really scary seeing a kid whose arms are being held above his head as he goes under. Little ones don't often have enough arm strength to force those arms (with floaties on them) down when in water.

But there are float vests of various sizes for kids to use at the pools on board. My youngest still likes it though he can swim.

We call the arm floats that go around chest "puddle jumpers" and I believe they are allowed.

My kids defiantly wore them on castaway cay back in 2012 no one said anything. I will be having them Wear the vests on the ship and at castaway cay ...but I am def. Bringing a package of arm floates for when we go to the beaches in the ports...no guarantee there will be life vests aat public beaches.

Yes, but only permitted in Mickey's pool. That pool isn't very deep. Less likelihood of a small child's arms being forced up over their heads with the arm-only water wings (or floaties).
I know this post is old but FWIW, water wings and floaties are in fact allowed on the Disney Cruise in ALL pools except Aqua Dunk. Not sure why you kept stating it wasn’t allowed. Maybe they aren’t safe but the question was are they allowed at Disney Cruise pools and they are. “ Coast Guard personal flotation devices (PFDs), water wings and flotation sewn into bathing suits can be brought on board and are permitted in all pools and waterslides except the AquaDunk”. They aren’t only allowed in Mickeys pool they’re allowed in ALL pools. Just in case someone else is researching! That is taken directly from DCL website. Water wings and arm floaties are the same thing.

Arm floaties are totally different from puddle jumpers. Puddle jumpers are coast guard approved and go across the chest. Arm floaties and water wings only go on the arms and aren’t coast guard approved.

Arm floats are not safe and will not keep a child from drowning. If you are concerned about beach ports considering bringing Coast Guard approved PFDs.
