I've always been one to where flip flops or sandals with straps on them EVERYWHERE. Like waking around Cedar Point all day in them, or even when I waitress outside. I haven't been to Disney World since I was small enough to ride piggyback though ;) So would wearing sandals or flip flops be a bad idea? I'll bring sneakers, but they just don't look right with every outfit and I hate wearing them for the most part. I have TOMS I can also wear, not my Sperrys though, they give awful blisters. Advice please :)

Where whatever shoes you usually wear all day! I always wear sandals. My feet get too hot and uncomfortable in sneakers and I get blisters from them!:goodvibes

I always used to wear tennis shoes, but a few years ago I tried sandals and I pretty much wear them constantly in Disney! Just make sure they are shoes you are normally comfortable walking distances in. I never had any blister issues except with my Havianas.

Cool thanks everyone! Yeah I hate how hot my feet get, so i'll be sticking with my usual sandals :)

I wouldn't wear cheapo flips down there like Old Navy, Wal Mart, etc, but the better ones with decent arch support are all I wear for WDW. I love OluKai Ohana the best. However, Sketcher Toneups, Montrail Molokini, Cobian Braided Bounce, and Orthoheels are also comfortable down there.

Before I got plantar fasciitis I used to swear by the old style Teva Mush (hate the new style though), Reefs, Yoga Mats, Nike Celso, and Crocs. Since getting planter fasciitis I can't wear those all day down there anymore though.:sad2:

I also think a nice brand with an arch if you are going to wear sandals or flip flops all day. Yes, I know - I wore them all day also for years. My dd and dil and future dil wear them - but we learn the lesson the hard way. Heel spurs, cortizone shots, etc. etc.

I wear sneakers (the cloth/mesh ones so my feet can breathe) all day. Evening I will wear flip flops/dressy sandals with arch. I also wear flip flops by the pool - croc ones or some other similar brand.

Keen sandals are awesome. Had a horrible time with blisters one trip to Vegas and someone told me to get Keens. I wore them on a 14 day trip to WDW/ Orlando and never had one blister.

I usually only wear sneakers for working out, but I've found that sneakers with socks are the best way to avoid tired feet and blisters. Having said that, I'm actually trying Keen hiking sandals this trip. They have the best of both worlds, it seems, since they have support but also allow me not to have something too clunky on my feet. We'll see how that goes ...

I know so many people love flip-flops but I'd never go on a long walk in flip-flops and given that you average something like 5 miles walking a day in WDW, I think something with more support may be better.

I think the best advice I saw on this topic was to change up shoes. Take your normal shoes, flip flops, crocs, tevas, etc. and just make a point to change them out during the day. Different shoes make different areas of your feet take the pressure so you're not blister ridden. :thumbsup2
